I have been through most the supermarket ones and apart from tres semme and aussie everything is just abit meh. I end up chucking the last inch of so away (f not more being impatient to try something new so I thought I may aswell just buy a really good shampoo etc. My hair is very very straight and fine, non coloured and I am starting to use more heat products than I used to (only dryer mainly - sometimes curling tongs) but it's all split ends, wispy, fly away and just gengerally abit crap. Not having it cut in 16 months didn't help but now I have I want to keep ontop of it. Sooo... what brands are worth the money? It's all totally new to me - I remember the brands Redkin/Redken (?), phyto (?), some loreal fun ball stuff... anyone have any advice? Thanks

wow, njhc - if Bumble & Bumble don't already have you on the payroll for viral marketing they should do!

Kerastase

I love it, my one gripe is that it leaves 'no smell'. The shampoo smells nice when you're using it, the conditioner smells like suncream. But when the hair is dried, it smells of nowt.

Looks amazing though, I've never found a better brand for me

I have used lots of the high street brands, I always get tired of them. Now I stick to Faith in Nature from any independent health food shop, they have various shampoos for different types. They are medium priced, about £4 a bottle. I like seaweed, lavender & geranium, for dc I use neem & propolis, the hemp & meadowfoam is their thickening shampoo and it is lovely imho.

Bumble & Bumble
Living Proof
Kiehls

ha! lemondifficult, i just love the stuff! id recommend ALL their products!!

i would be careful from buying on the net, lots of sites sell out of date stuff cheap. same with skincare and perfumes. try and get it from space nk, selfridges, harrods or a salon.

LemonDifficult · 06/02/2011 22:34

Thanks, I'll go to Space NK when I'm next feeling richer passing.

I would recommend Dove Intense Damage Therapy for people wanting a cheap non salon based shampoo and conditioner. I would say that it is not too expensive & better worth the money.

Aveda pure abundance

Plus an Aveda conditioning mask

I do anyway.

I bought Bumble & Bumble the other day. The seaweed one. Recommended by hairdresser but they've stopped stocking other brands. Haven't tried it yet though.

If you want to try Aveda I have recently found them to be very generous with their hair care samples. One of the SA's told me that if I bought something and din't like it I could take it back even if I had used some as long as it was within around something like 14 days and you had your receipt. Obviously check with Aveda but I do reccomend talking to them and getting some samples.

Percy and Reed.
I do have it, but use it sparingly a couple of times a week, and it was a treat purchase.
I'd love to use it with gay abandon!
