MarshaBrady · 02/02/2010 22:50

hey ltec. Dh didn't like them. I don't always listen to him, but when on the fence I do. And I was on fence, with me Black Ratters.

Baby is wonderful, he is sleeping like a log on dh's chest, and I am enjoying having time mooching doing nothing too much to do the sensible thing and go to bed.

How's your bub? Is he 4 months now is that right?

eshermummy · 02/02/2010 23:09

AAAAGH, JUST PLACED ASOS ORDER HAVING FORGOTTEN ABOUT THE 20% OFF code.

HMMMM, shall I place another identical order and send back the first (free returns).

It's late, I need to go to bed. Am cross and grumpy now.

Pannacotta · 02/02/2010 23:09

Have been lurking on these threads (am not too good at shopping these days), can someone please tell me why the Black Rats are so popular?
Can't get my head round leggings being so £££ but am clearly missing something!

What do you wear with them boots wise?

bunnymother · 02/02/2010 23:18

LTEC - oh those Choos have me swooning!

LetThemEatCake · 02/02/2010 23:27

right that's it. In the last hour, my entire family have come down with some kind of lurgy and I have just a mopping-up-puke-and-poo fest

ugh.

I need a treat. Swan tee or Choos??

Joking.

Swan tee? yes? no?

yes MB he is 4 months! Going way too fast. Sleeping soundly by my feet. We (baby & I) are going to sleep down here tonight, don't want to be in contact with virulent dh!!

Pannacotta - erm, I dunno. They're not your bog standard American Apparel styley leggings. They've something of the rockstar about them. And they're Australian. It's enough for me

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 02/02/2010 23:32

Oh no you poor things!

I know it's so fast. Ds2 is now 7 weeks. Ach it's so fast, I have to remember to think how beautiful it is to have him in the midst of the fug of tiredness.

I have actually gone off AA leggings as main legging of choice, well except for running (although I have one pair and were in the wash and had to run in the Wolford leggings, which made me think of this thread of course).

And do need some upmarket ones. BR sooo close. I might change my mind when lost more weight.

Esher that first to might become the new Tam Tam dress. Lucky none of us are mates in rl. I'm ordering tomorrow.

Thanks for grey leather jacket post LTEC. Looking at it on iPhone & will look properly tmrw but it's not got my pulse going yet. I've seen one for about £100 in M&S or Next in a magazine I need to check out. Thanks though-I feel happy knowing you're keeping your oh so stylish eyes peeled.

Had fun tonight helping mum choose clothes for Paris. Me & dd are lucky to have some pretty damn wonderful women in our lives.

Fleecy what good news about your dad. Having been in a similar place recently with my wonderful dad I know how good that news feels.

I am, one way or another, going to buy the Jimmy Choos from The SheerLuxe website. I get it by email & resisted looking properly but I know they're destined to be mine. I love love them.

I think I might need some Black Rats. I have long slim legs and never know what to dress them in for a (rare) night out. Can I wear them to a christening?

Do any of you 'do' Valentine's Day? We don't really but dp's sent a lovely "save the day" to his 2 girls as he's taking us out for lunch and would like to get him
a little something.

Esher Cd'A must've been beautiful for your wedding reception . Was it warm enough to use the balcony?

MrsJ yes, please tell us more about this colours thing. I've been waiting to hear how it went! What do they do?

Right, night all.

MM

Right bedtime.

monkeysmama · 02/02/2010 23:52

Hope your brood are all ok LTEC. It's going around-nearly everyone I know has had it.

My spelling & grammar in my post are awful . Sorry.

LetThemEatCake · 03/02/2010 00:49

just dashing in with one last linkage before bedtime

nude shoes for hana? - have these already been done?

night all.

OP posts:
traceybath · 03/02/2010 07:18

AAgh internet broke last night and DH away so was very bored. Read grazia and tried on entire wardrobe.

Good news is that am now just under my goal weight - but do I feel slim - well you can guess the answer to that.

Right off to waitrose after school run where I will be purchasing easy living - claudia channelling liz - oooh my ideal look .

LTEC - those choos are beyond gorgeous. I am so having a london shopping trip come june/july when I stop bf and I will be buying a pair of choos.

Hells - I've got a pink silk leopard print scarf from comptoir and I wear it all the time. Definitely keep your LV one.

Right off to get dressed.

MM there's a grey drapey jacket in next which was in grazia I think.

LTEC - hope sick people are better.

MrsJ - did you find the lady really helpful or was it nothing you didn't know already?

Esher - love the nude waterfall cardigan but unsure as to the all saints waistcoat.

Marsha - are you doing libertys today - I am very envious.

mrsjuan · 03/02/2010 08:09

Marsha I can't believe you are so together and stylish with a 9 week old baby!

LTEC hope you're all feeling better. Love the swan t shirt

Everyone who asked about colours - basically she just looked at my skin (without any make up - horrors!) and hair and came up with a set of colours that would suit me. Showed me the difference that different shades made to how my skin looked e.g. with red - a normal red looks quite good but orangey reds and bluey reds don't.

Then she had a set of fabrics in the colours and showed me which ones looked good on me and together - played around with scarves & accessories.

I think in a longer consultation they do makeover too but I am quite happy with my make up and seem to be using very similar colours to the ones she would have used.

tbh sometimes I could see what she was talking about and sometimes I couldn't but there were some colours that worked really well so I will be starting a new love affair with purple, navy and sage!

hellsbelles · 03/02/2010 09:22

Morning all...thanks for the scarf votes. It's a keeper.

LTEC - sorry you've all been hit by the lurgey, hope it's teh quick 12 hour one and everyone is better now....

That swan tee looks perfect for rats. And those shoes though of course they are for our other alternative universe

Esher - love that nude top really love it. Very tempted.

Mimi - how great the dress worked out like that - it was obviously meant to be

MM - Rats - maybe not for a christening unless it's taking place at soho house. But I am going to keep mine. I tried them on with a (sale) vanessa bruno long line sweater with gathered shoulders...and it sort of works.

But (plea to all Black Rats owners)...what the feck should I wear on my feet - my boots look rubbish with them...

Fleecy - I may well use the 'heels' moniker - though I can't actually work in them

Mrs Juan - now you know all your new colours there are lots of excuses for more shopping

So today I'm wearing the black (sale) Brora dress with a massive silver scarf...looks o.k...but I'm having to have a fringe because at the grand old age of 38 I have two MASSIVE spots on my head. I don't think anyone is fooled though...as these mini Vesuvius glow menacingly from under the cover of darkness

DressageNut · 03/02/2010 09:22

Aaah MrsJ - I've just had my colours done as well (spurred on by this thread). My lady was a House of Colour consultant and I was a bit afeard when I saw her - I tend to the tomboyish and she was very girly - but did take heart when she said "yes you can wear a boiler suit and rigger boots, but if they are the right colours it will still be a wow!"

There was a bit of introductory waffle and then she sat me down with a white sheet on and my hair pulled back from my face. She put various coloured scarves round my neck, layering them one on top of the other, and I didn't notice the effect of the colours a great deal when she was putting them on...but the differences were shocking when she took them off one by one. She gave me a wallet with colour swatches in and also a chart telling me which colours of those looked the best, which ones could be worn top to toe, and which ones were best as tops/accessories etc.

I had the makeup and skincare session after lunch - was rather worried that it was going to be a hard sell of HoC products but it wasn't - and she did take notice of the fact that I said I didn't like to wear a lot of makeup. The only was when she said I had to wear makeup to ride my horse...am going to struggle with this one a bit...

Anyway I am an Autumn which means about 25% of my current wardrobe is OK and the rest has to be phased out!!!

hellsbelles · 03/02/2010 09:23

too many smileys...sorry!

carciofi · 03/02/2010 09:37

Roary, I remember you from the Citizen jeans thread, do you wear them loads? I love the DVF dress, might have to halve my handbag budget and get the dress.

Black Rats are very cool but the name just makes me shudder!

LTEC, hope your patients are all on the mend.

Congrat on the weight loss Tracey, you will look fab in the Current Elliot skinnies. I wonder when they'll arrive, I'm impatient.

Hellsbelles, I still get spots sometimes and it really annoys me but hopefully I'll get less wrinkles as a result! Probably not.
