I'm wondering about sizes too Frazzledoldbag so bumping for you. Also, do they discount well?

almondfinger · 10/01/2010 21:54

Have been thinking about a nice cashmere jumper, got to put the sale in my phone to remind me. What are their sizes like?
Tempted by some thermals. My M&S vests ride up around my midrif and I need a treat.

selby · 10/01/2010 22:45

Noooooo! I'm still dithering over some Toast items and having caved in and treated myself to a gorgeous cashmere jumper from Jaeger yesterday, I'm not allowing myself to even peek at Brora.

frazzledoldbag · 10/01/2010 23:00

Brora is lovely....well, it looks lovely on the website anyway. So, sizing info anyone - pleaase?

dexter73 · 11/01/2010 06:31

I think their sizing runs true to size. The cashmere doesn't shrink when you wash it.

bellissima · 11/01/2010 07:30

As with Boden I get a 10 rather than an 8 in eg the cropped cardi. Brora ones are a prettier shape (but never go as cheap).

faustina · 11/01/2010 08:24

sometimes their sizing is very generous, sometimes not. It's annoying. I find the cashmere generally, is quite big

florenceuk · 11/01/2010 10:02

Site is now down pending the sale...

I think I want a gauzy winter scarf and maybe some matching wristwarmers - I'd love the gauzy poloneck but it is far too expensive....

pagwatch · 11/01/2010 10:03

I am going to town shortly - I'll have a look.

Hopefully · 11/01/2010 10:29

I usually find that the sizing is pretty true, but I'm long bodied and do have to check the length on some items - they always state the length so easy to check.

I can't believe I'm seriously contemplating buying cashmere for my toddler, but I saw a friend the other day whose toddler was in 3rd time hand-me-down cashmere jumper, and it still looked lovely!

faustina · 11/01/2010 11:28

I think if you sign up for emails, they'll send you a code so you can access the sale now. It starts properly on wednesday

veryconfusedandupset · 11/01/2010 11:33

I find sizing quite generous - nice to find I'm a 12 or 14 instead or my real 16. I'm hoping to get an elbow patch cardi and maybe the liberty print dress in monochrome this time

aquavit · 11/01/2010 12:30

ooh faustina (or does anyone else for that matter), do you know that code?

I have been itching for this sale to start and it's not in the shops till wednesday; and you can't sign up now because the site is closed.

faustina · 11/01/2010 12:57

aquavit, I think it might be an individual one for each customer - I wish I could give it to you : (

aquavit · 11/01/2010 13:02

thanks faustina - I will try to contain myself till wednesday...

DorotheaPlenticlew · 11/01/2010 13:27

Argh, just got the email. Scary amount of stuff in basket -- someone stop me please.

DorotheaPlenticlew · 11/01/2010 14:07

Oh lord, I've spent three hundred quid

aquavit · 11/01/2010 14:09

whatcha get??

traceybath · 11/01/2010 14:14

Ooh am so annoyed they haven't emailed me - I've bought stuff from there before in fact in their last sale.

Aha perhaps its because I only buy in the sale - I'm on the 'b' list.

How much are the wristwarmers and cropped cardis in the sale please?

DorotheaPlenticlew · 11/01/2010 14:23

OK, here I confess but some of it may go back:

For DS:
polo shirt (£19 down to £5, his current size)
ribbed tank top jumper (£45 to £35 but have been coveting for ages - to grow into)
checked shirt (£28, cannot remember what it cost before - to grow into)

For DD (as yet unborn ):
cable knit jumper for next winter (£79 down to £39)
fair isle mittens on a cord for next winter (£19 to £15)
inca bootees (£32 to £16)
cashmere leggings (I know, stupid, but they were £69 to £29 so I caved)
thermal cardi (£35 down to £9)

For my mum:
honeycomb scarf (£79 to £29)

For me:
embroidered tan cowboy boots (£239 to £79, might not fit but taking a punt on 'em as good bargain if they do)
cashmere bed socks (£45 down to £35)
moss stitch fingerless gloves (£39 to £29)

And it's a fiver for delivery (cheeky I think - should be free for spending that much!)

Guilt guilt guilt laced with a bit of

DorotheaPlenticlew · 11/01/2010 14:28

Yeah, but I only ever buy in the sale too! Maybe they just know I am a sucker. Actually, it might be that I recently answered a survey for them, and I have posted reviews too, so they get feedback from me. Oh and I did once buy a babygro full price as a present for someone.

traceybath, the wristwarmers are now £25 for normal ones and £32 for long ones. Also available in stripy (£28), handknit marl (£39) and "retro" (£39).

Cropped round neck cardi seems to be down from £149 to £115 - there are also variants (velvet trimmed and "vintage") for a bit more.

DS making waking up noises so may have to vanish, apologies if x-posting with anyone else wanting prices ...

aquavit · 11/01/2010 14:32

some of those reductions are v good (tho i don't suppose they sell all that many eighty quid jumpers for babies without reducing them)

if anyone can tell me how much the cowlneck casmere jumper and cowlneck mohair jumpers are I'd be very jealous grateful

i rather like this vicarious shopping

dexter73 · 11/01/2010 14:49

I have ordered the deep v jumper in thunder down to £129 from £169. Bit annoyed as I really wanted navy but that colour isn't reduced!
Cowl neck is £149 from £195 (black & navy not reduced).
Mohair cowl is £59 from £89.

DorotheaPlenticlew · 11/01/2010 14:49

Cowl polo neck: £195 to £149
Mohair version: £89 to £59

tracey, sorry I didn't give you original prices for wristwarmers, was rushing but can check again if you like

aquavit · 11/01/2010 15:13

thank you both that is v helpful. now I shall spend the next two days crossing fingers that my size is still available when us plebs are allowed to shop.

may have to try them on in the shop tomorrow (conveniently it is on my way to work) where they are presumably still selling them full price.

must stop obsessing...
