Has any one had it done, is it worth it? I have bleached depleted, waxed, threaded and plucked for years now and it is getting me down now. Whatever I do I have stubble the next day nothing lasts. Advise please....

I've finally done my lower legs... I've had six sessions, next ones will be free.
I'm very hairy and my lower legs were a disaster area: lots of hair, bumps, ingrowing hair... a nightmare.
They are finally smooth and there are only a few hair left.

And I want to thank my parents (who probably have been feeling very guilty for the financial help!

supersal - My skin test was just three buzzes at different intensities, and then she said I could come back in 4 days to start treatment, assuming no adverse reaction.

Going Friday, not tomorrow as I said before.

Hi hully - so now the secret's out - i bear more relation to my fictional alter-ego that previously imagined ...

There's nothing wrong with a nice beard, James.

Umami · 20/01/2010 16:40

James Beard, lovely man.

Jamieandhismagictorch · 20/01/2010 17:51

I have just worked out who you are "Umami" !

Stop following me around ! (not really). I just makes me feel guilty about having run out of creative juices on the Other Thread, and yet not wanting to be quite left out ...

Hullygully · 20/01/2010 18:01

Come 'n have a grope...

Jamieandhismagictorch · 20/01/2010 18:04

Is there no thread we are not prepared to pervert ?

Sorry for hijack everyone else

Hullygully · 20/01/2010 18:06

No. None are safe from our wandering hands and beady eyes.

JustBe · 20/01/2010 19:28

I had this problem for years and have used a little gadget spring thing from this page for a few years and have never looked back.

It may not be for everyone but it literally changed my life. I missed so many social occasions and even days off work over the years.. due to my face being in such a state with either waxing or bleaching my skin was just too sensitive for these things.

I use it for a couple of minutes once or twice a week and I don`t even give the problem a second thought now.

Umami · 20/01/2010 20:12

You have worked out who I am, James?
Who am I? Who am I-iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii? I'm Jean Valjean!
(24601 to my homies)

Umami · 20/01/2010 20:14

(Think of it not as a hijack, but as a bump, OP!)

Hullygully · 20/01/2010 20:16

I think she meant she's just recognised you from Olympus...

Umami · 20/01/2010 20:24

It's the "inverted commas" - they intrigueth me....

Jamieandhismagictorch · 21/01/2010 12:44

Are you not "CheerfulYank" ?

Hullygully · 21/01/2010 12:54

No she not. Her live in Hengland.

Umami · 21/01/2010 17:19

Why would you believe that? I do say 'Mom" but that is a West Midlands thing!

Jamieandhismagictorch · 21/01/2010 18:36

Oh - it was simply that CheerfulYank was on that thread before, and then the James Beard (American) reference.

Umami · 21/01/2010 19:53

Aha! I see! We should hunt her down and draw her back in!

bumping this to say - have had one treatment and it is really working !

DuchessOfAvon · 18/02/2010 19:46

This is so timely - I have a tiny bit of cash squirreled away and have been thinking about sorting out my chin in time for my 40th birthday. I am now spending so much time plucking, my husband is quicker at making his face hair-free than I am.

Is everyone happy with sk:n clinics - they seem to be the one nearest to me.

booge · 18/02/2010 19:58

I had 6 sessions for my lip and chin, some of the best money I've ever spent, really happy with the results.

Jamieandhismagictorch · 18/02/2010 22:13

Duchess - I'm happy. I'm going again next week. I've paid for 6 sessions, which is what they think it will need, because the hairs are all at different growth phases, but I'm not sure if I'll need all that at this rate.

I'll need to ask them if I can get a refund - or hair removed from somewhere else - if so.

booge - did you get a really good result straight away, but then need all 6 in the end ?
