good buys for me:
Ash trainers - am so glad I bought two pairs, one black, one silver
Isabella Oliver cable cosy - have worn it to death
North Face parka thingy - has reconciled me, somewhat, to the cold
cashmere wrsitwarmers - warm hands without being slippy on the steering wheel
cashmere Travelwrap - just too lovely for words

waste of money:
long black boots - have hardly worn them, will ebay them in the next few days
DKNY cosy - gorgeous but too flappy, drives me mad, but would love to wear it sans children (say, 2020??)
Boden Henley dress - the buttons didn't come down far enough for bfing, have sold it now.

how about you?

I am very impressed by those of you who have had the most wear out of cashmere jumpers, silk blouses and designer dresses

My best buys:

Fly boots
Gap jeans
Uniglo heat tech tops
Zara and All Saints knitwear
Longish red leather fur lined gloves from TK Maxx

I have most enjoyed wearing my red Anglomania dress but I would be lying if I said it was the best value for money in terms of cost per wear

Wow Kristina that is a gorgeous dress.

I wear a silk top and cashmere cardigan combo most days, whether with jeans and converse or a skirt and heels. Makes me feel good . And warm!

Doghouse, I got my coat from a boutique in Dublin called Costume, they do their own range of coats, about 5 different styles in 4 different colours and great quality fabric. It is one of the best clothes shops in the country even though the staff can be a bit snooty!

oh Kirstina - why did I click through. I love that dress of yours. And it's reduced - so doubly tempting. I've got to hide this thread.

What did you wear with it? The boots they've styled it with look a bit clunky don't they?

GeorginaWorsley · 02/01/2010 12:42

I suspect you are right re jeans Tulpe, but I would wear with tunics/long cardigan so don't really mind the waistband issue,as long as there is no overhang!
Will check out Boden jeans in spring catalogue....

i've really been enjoying reading this thread but took me a little time to figure out the best and worst of 09 buys since i was pregnant for the second half the year and so A Lot of things got underworn but hopefully in 2010..
the good..
magenta cashmere glove
purple uniqlo duckdown coat..parkfriendly but had loads of compliments
lots of uniqlo longsleeved t-shirts

the bad..
anything with a waist at the moment!obviously
anything i've bought from the outnet...love iit!love it!love it!but cant fit into it with bump..still will have some gorgeous bits to wear come summer including dkny gold sandals and matthew williamson frock.

Kristina - omfg that dress is gorgeous!!

KristinaM · 03/01/2010 18:25

I'm so pleased you like the dress [ smile]. I got it at a discount but even then its very expensive for me, but I have worn it a lot. I usually wear it with blue/grey shoe boots and opaques, as its above the knee on me

To give credit where its due, it was a MNer who suggested it would suit me. I am a lollipop/vase and find it hard to get dresses that don't look frumpy with large norks.

I usually love LTECs purchases but she must be a totally different body shape to me as they never suit me

meaningofnight · 03/01/2010 20:44

I bought these boots www.my-wardrobe.com/ash/black-time-knee-high-zip-stub-heel-boot-by-ash

Have worn quite a bit.

Worst buy was glittery black sequin converse trainers - just don't feel comfortable.
