Come on Johnny.

OP posts:
Lotster · 21/12/2009 23:30

Snow - I did wish I was brave enough to try different colours - liked the Mulberry and especially Nightshade (not Frog though!!) but felt safe with black for any outfit.

Fishie - shush! Don't tell my my hooves are even bigger than I thought please

cornysxmasmuffmusic · 22/12/2009 09:56

Really fishie - that's good to know. Haven't christened mine yet.
My 2nd order has been dispatched but am tempted again by all your reviews of those patent boots - if there are any left that is!

cornysxmasmuffmusic · 22/12/2009 10:01

Found the boots. Only green left in my size - black would be good for work though. Are they really nice? I thought the heel looked a bit weird.

Lotster · 22/12/2009 10:05

Corny - give them a ring, there were no stock showing on the black but when I called them she "found" two pairs available!

Must say my 41's fit my normally UK 7 feet like a glove, although if anything they're a little "deep" IYSWIM? Great for me as I wear a Scholl arch support insole for my back anyway.

Twas lovely this morning to put them over my normal jeans and poloneck combo instead of trainers, made me feel very glam for the nursery run for once!!

cornysxmasmuffmusic · 22/12/2009 10:27

really - that's handy to know Lotster! I want flat boots to wear with dresses to work - maybe they'll be a bit loose over tights. Are they better over jeans then?

gerbiltamer · 22/12/2009 12:09

I know I'm really late to this thread but I ordered the Carnaby Cord trench coat in purple too like another MNer and although I'm saving it to Christmas Day because it's part of DH's present to me, I love it. I do hope the cord doesn't rub off of it though, because I will be sending it back! I know all the fashion experts say that you shouldn't wear double brested coats when you're big busted (38E) but I now have two Boden macs and I love them.

I also bought the pintuck tunic in red and it's a great fit. Now I'll have to buy a pair of black full length leggings in the M&S sale - why is it when you buy one piece of clothing you have to buy others to complement it?

Lotster · 22/12/2009 13:33

Corny - I usually find boots a bit loose anyway, especially around the ankle. I will wear them with leggings and skirts too I'm sure, as they don't look ridiculously loose, but yes, better with jeans. Not sure why they're generously cut when they've got elasticated darts anyway.

They look even better in the flesh/patent too! I am loving them. Even though I've found rubber scuff marks on the kitchen floor today..

Well I must say I've been posting on MN since 2007 but feel I've truly arrived now I'm posting on a Boden thread
Welcome to the dark side.. or should that be floral side?

OllieWollieWoo · 22/12/2009 14:00

Debating (ok faffing) re the infamous rouched waist dress - whats the sizing like compared to say Next? I'm a normally as 12 in there/M&S etc. Should I go for a 10 in Boden or stick with a 12? Is it worth it? Can't find recent thread which talks about the material!

cornysxmasmuffmusic · 22/12/2009 14:11

Ollie - I ordered the rouched dress and didn't like it - the sizing was fine for me (I'm a 12 and it was fine) but I thought it looked a bit cheap. I also saw someone wearing it in RL and didn't like it on them. Suppose if it was discounted enough it would be a good buy. But you never can tell unless you try it on yourself!

Lotster - I am soooo tempted now by those boots....

cornysxmasmuffmusic · 22/12/2009 14:12

gerbiltamer - I sent a tunic back as I had nothing to wear it with!

gerbiltamer · 22/12/2009 14:46

Corny - true, the trouble is that I'm very fond of it the fit is great!

It's such as shame that Boden boots and shoes don't go up to a 43 because I've got huge feet.

Has anyone seen the size charts for the new season stuff? They've added a size 6 (pah!) and a 22, but it looks as though they've scaled the sizes back down again - i.e. a 14 has a 36 inch bust...

cornysxmasmuffmusic · 22/12/2009 15:26

they've changed the sizes? Noooo!

Lotster · 22/12/2009 16:13

Go on Corny! What colour?

Forgot, was a bit disappointed when I quoted Mumsnet for my 10% off and free delivery and returns, as they wouldn't honour it as there's a sale on! No fair considering I was spending £110! But they've promised to postpone the perks until my next non-sale order..

cornysxmasmuffmusic · 23/12/2009 09:38

Lotster I want the black ones. You are a bad influence on me I will have to tell dh that you bullied me into it when he asks why I've spent half my wages with Boden this month.

purplepeony · 23/12/2009 10:50

Ollie- I returned the ruched dress.
I found it quite loose and without a waist. I ordered a 10 and it was a bit big on the bust and hips. An 8 might have fit or been slightly tight. The sleeves were not tight despite others saying so,and I have quite plump arms!

The material is okay but not silky- it is "twill" so you can see the weave IYSWIM. It just had a cheap look to me. If it went down to £30/40 I might re order, but to me it was an everyday dress not special enough for anything else.
