I'm thinking short dress (loose on waist to allow expanding in tummy area), opaques and boots. Anyone else?

the jumper dress and beautiful boots i picked out online. as dh got home from work as i said " oh i wish i could have these for christmas"
"do!" says he

"great" says i " just pressing the checkout button now!"

purplepeony · 14/12/2009 15:12

oh no, not another one of these...

I haven't a clue, but as I'll be knee deep in ash from lighting the fire, making the lunch and all that, then probably my usual jeans/yoga pants and a T shirt.

who gets dressed up- unless you are going out and about?

FlamingoCrimbo · 14/12/2009 15:14

Black dress I bought the other day from Sainsburys - comes three or four inches above my knee - with blue opaque tights (as decreed by the DDs - I had purple ones at the party the other night and I/they fancy a change!), and my black patent leather rounded toe court shoes

Purple - I get dressed up because the children like to and it's nice to make a fuss!

CMOTdibbler · 14/12/2009 15:16

Pyjamas. I have bought some starry ones specially, and will be revelling in not having to see anyone or go outside all day

tethersjinglebellend · 14/12/2009 15:17

A fixed grin and a carving knife.

DP will probably be wearing the gravy.

LetThemEatCake · 14/12/2009 15:26

this - the zip front solves all my breastfeeding blues

SuWoombOfImmaculateConception · 14/12/2009 15:27

Ooh another one here going for dress and tights. Navy blue shift with ruffles down the front and midnight blue tights. Very comfy, but room for dinner and still look stylish for photos.

Fantastico.

whelk · 14/12/2009 15:30

LetThemEatCake how does that work then? I'm bfing and probably in it for the long haul as dd2 milk allergic. Am mighty sick of not being able to do dresses and am just going to stuff it on Xmas Day and feed out of the way of father in law!
Does the zip thing not leave a fair bit exposed at the top iyswim

BrianGiggs · 14/12/2009 15:33

BrianGiggs · 14/12/2009 15:34

traceybath · 14/12/2009 15:35

I bet you could carry that off LTEC.

I am planning on wearing skinny jeans, lace trimmed vest top and cashmere cardigan and heels.

saintnickelas · 14/12/2009 15:35

lol @ letthemeatcake!

i haven't a clue what i'm wearing, but last month, I found a bag of socks i thought were all "in need of mending". turns out they are all fine - and in that bag were my christmas socks! (red with skating teddy bears on)
so, i have socks to wear on christmas day, but nothing else.
i would settle with that, but i've got to go to church in the morning and it might get cold.

BrianGiggs · 14/12/2009 15:36

these threads make me roar.
that anyoen plans ahead
that they care
surely xmas day is the anti fashion day?

traceybath · 14/12/2009 15:39

Bit too casual for me brian.

LaurieFairyonthetreeeatscake · 14/12/2009 15:42

Pyjamas, just like CMOT said.

Will not be getting dressed until I get into a clean pair of pj's after getting my new smellies.

whelk · 14/12/2009 15:43

Oh jeezus Letthemaatcake Im such a twat- can't believe I didn't get that.......and then followed it up with tales of my own bfing/allergy woes.
