I'm thinking short dress (loose on waist to allow expanding in tummy area), opaques and boots. Anyone else?

traceybath · 14/12/2009 15:53

Yes.

Its the first christmas in 3 years I haven't been pregnant and feeling rubbish.

But not going to any parties thanks to velcro baby so xmas day is time to dress up - sad I know .

SuWoombOfImmaculateConception · 14/12/2009 20:58

We had a very eventful party as there was nearly a baby born at it

Glad you like the dress cake, tis lovely on. Your dress looks just about the most perfect jumper dress to bf in. Which colour?

That gorgeous woman on the Next advert banner at the top of the page is you isn't it???

monkeysmama · 14/12/2009 21:12

I started the first Christmas Day clothing thread back in November though have still found nothing. It's a special day which needs special clothes in my book. Have brilliant dress for dd - perfect for a walk in the park and then fun at home. I don't know what I am going to wear - ordered a few dresses to try which all arrived today but are being sent back.

Have new piggies for Christmas Eve which were actually bit of a mistake. The top doesn't match the trousers and I should've returned them as I cant' find anything warm to wear on top that goes with them and have bad boobs now 18 months into bfing though I did buy the matching bra.

CybilServant · 14/12/2009 21:14

All you 'dresser uppers' are you visitng people or having visitors? Or just watching Harry Hills Christmas Special at home like rest of us?

Hulababy · 14/12/2009 21:15

My PJs

We have Christmas Day, just the 3 of us, so we stay cosy in PJs for a whilewhilst sipping hampagne opening gifts. Will get dressed for lunch and to go for a walk, but nothing special. Then PJs again later on.

I have never had a Christmas Day outfit I don't think. Don't really get it - unles you are going out I guess. Still not convinced I'd buuy something special though.. I certainly haven't for Christmas Eve and Boxing Day - our family visiting/them to us days.

Tortington · 14/12/2009 21:17

i am going to family for xmas dinner - hence the excuse to dress up

monkeysmama · 14/12/2009 21:21

I am a dresser upper even though it is just us 3 at home. We'll go for a walk and a drink in the pub then home for dinner.

The way I see it, since dd we rarely get especially dressed up to go out and I like clothes a lot. I am looking forward to wearing something I really like and dp hopefully likes too. He bought a new jumper last week he's keeping for Christmas Day (and no, it doesn't have snowflakes on!)

SuWoombOfImmaculateConception · 14/12/2009 21:22

Nope, staying in .

We will be at my parents house in France, does that make a difference?

MitchyInge · 14/12/2009 21:22

will probably be in normal stylish ensemble of threadbare jodhs/jeans and hairy FLEECE beneath skanky barbour as have volunteered not only to muck out about 8 million stables but also to do all the am and pm feeds and the final checks at end of day

am drawing line at turning out and bringing in as boots leak and am afraid of trenchfoot

LetThemEatCake · 14/12/2009 21:28

ha ha Suwoo!! I wish

actually, you are not the first person to have said this...also an ex trying to score brownie points and one of my dd's little friends, who now gets extra biscuits when she comes over

crankytwanky · 14/12/2009 21:30

A purple dress. I always dress up for christmas. My family always go overboard. DH's family don't, I found to my embassment the first year I turned up at my Inlaws in a floor-length red dress and more jewelry than is tasteful.

TeaOneSugar · 14/12/2009 21:33

I think I'm going to wear a dress, for the first time ever on Christmas day.

My favourite black dress is rapidly becoming too big (I'm not complaining), I thought it might be a good send off for it before it goes to the charity shop in the new year.

I've thought about having it taken in but I've never had a good experience yet with alterations.

ILaunchedTigersSausageRocket · 14/12/2009 21:35

We do huge family thing at BIL's (then they do big family thing at ours on Boxing Day) so it is a dressing up occasion.

Don't know yet. Maybe black jersey dress and coloured opaques, I know, a bit passe maybe but it is comfy, in my wardrobe and I'm going to my 50yr old BIL's house, not nipping round to Anna Wintour's gaff for sheery and mince pies.

MrsMattie · 14/12/2009 21:36

Haven't a clue but I'm going to make an effor tthis year, having been heavily pregnant or very post-natal for about the last 5 years!

fishie · 14/12/2009 21:50

i dress up a bit. but not shoes.

Nowtheres4 · 14/12/2009 22:11

black 'tea dress' with roses on, big red belt, black tights and red suede killer heels.
Going to my parents house and there will be about 18 of us all together with my very snobby cousins, so don;t dare go casual so they can gossip about what a state i am, now i'm single.
also booked in for highlights and maincure, but i get those regularly anyway.

monkeysmama · 17/12/2009 20:55

I saw a shoe box delivered today. I think I might be wearing new shoes .
