I'm thinking short dress (loose on waist to allow expanding in tummy area), opaques and boots. Anyone else?

I am wearing leggings/opaques,
this top
top over long-sleeved T,

with skinny floral vintage looking belt (also topshop) and boots....although I always end up in slippers and spend rather alot of time on the floor playing with the DCs and their new toys.

I am wearing size 12. For the first time since I was 18 (that's nearly half my lifetime) I was very very very chuffed when I tried on a 14 today and found it too roomy.

It's a dress, btw - I like to dress up a bit at Christmas too. I'll be wearing it with opaques (not sure what colour yet) and shiny shoes.

This year, I shall be wearing my skiing clothes for Christmas morning (we will be at FiLs house in French Alps) and then this in Magpie Blue from Toast with leggings and heels for Christmas dinner.

We always dress up for Christmas day. We do opening of stockings and breakfast in pjs and then around mid-morning get dressed in something lovely before main present opening. I still get down on the floor and play with DCs and their new toys though, despite posh clothes

my very large baby bump and I will be slobbing around in p.j's til i feel it is the right time to drag myself into a hot bubble bath! then a black jumper dress with my black boots.
14m old DD will be wearing her breakfast most likely!

monkeysmama · 18/12/2009 08:15

That tunic is beautiful tulpe.

Thanks MM

I bought it in the sale last January - they only had them in blue last year, iirc. I have worn it loads - looks great dressed down for day with skinny jeans, boots and long sleeve tee; evening wear it with opaques and heels.

A new black dress from wallis with new black shoes from Topshop, and new multi stringed peral necaklace with corsage attached from wallis and set of paearly bangles from topshop.
All new and waiting for christmas day.

We are staying at home but having 12 for dinner, more for drinks before hand, and i will manage with the aid of an apron to cook the dinner in ths outfit and then play charades and build lego.

Dressing up makes christmas day feel special and different from other days.

silver /pewter longsleeved dress/tunic from Mango and black leggings. Coincidentally dcs outfits match my black and silverish ensemble colour scheme...No doubt dh will ruin the effect by wearing usual old t-shirt!!!

coolkat · 18/12/2009 18:00

Just ordered a dress from White stuff, not sure if its frumpy though so may be going back.....

GeneHuntsMistress · 18/12/2009 18:56

the ruched waist shift from boden with purple opaques and purple patent mary janes

Lulumama · 18/12/2009 18:58

i got a black asymmetric dress, lace leggings and not sure yet whether high high shoes or flats. prob flats as will be cooking.
silver accessories and poss red lipstick !

FabIsGettingReadyForXmas · 18/12/2009 19:01

I will be wearing black trousers and a new sparkly top or my long dress that DH bought me. Outfit one was too tight 2 weeks ago and means I can't eat. Outfit two is fab, makes me feel like a lady but might be too cold.

Nemofish · 18/12/2009 23:17

Sequinned leggings, longline top with pink white + black with silver patches, and a sequinned jacket over the top.

With pink sequinned ballet flats.

Oh yes. I have had this planned for months!

Will spend the am in pyjamas though, then get changed to start doing dinner.

Eve4Walle · 19/12/2009 07:20

A black Jumper dress from Fremch Connection. Have wanted it for ages and DH bought if for me yesterday! I'ts lovely....

DD wearing a lovely silky red and navy dress from M&S with matching red bolero cardi and DS has a James May type printed shirt and cords to wear. Dunno about DH yet.

LetThemEatCake · 19/12/2009 15:58

a scowl and a watch, at which I will be glancing at regular intervals, wondering how soon we can decently make our escape and come home to snuggle on the sofa and watch Shrek the Halls with the dcs.

At which point I will be wearing cashmere socks, cashmere wrap and Sainsbos pyjamas
