I need - would like, whatever - a pair of inexpensive skinnies to tide me over until I'm back in my pre-baby ones. Don't like the Primark ones, the denim is cheap and nasty and tough. Any suggestions? I am a tall pear. Thanks!

Yes, I've got baxters... They're one of the pairs I'm trying to get back into. Guess I could buy a size up for now?

Detox going pretty well, tracey, how about you? Am 7lb down and back in one of my pairs of pre-preg jeans (7 for all mankind, they are so good for the big of butt). Have been running a few times, felt awesome. Dh away this week so will sneakily do a veggie fast in his absence to up the ante a bit (for all his frock enabling, he's pretty anti- diet)

Did you see that I took your advice and gave up on finding a fab black bag???

New look skinnies are really good.

Matalan for Falmer jeans (£12), seem to be good quality for the price.

I second Hinny's Disco New Look.

Wear mine a lot, all other jeans in my wardrobe have become redundant.

Have had mine a year.

If I were you I'd be tempted to just wait another couple of weeks as sounds like you'll be back in all your jeans very soon.

Glad you've found a bag! I'm in a colourful phase at the moment and steering clear of black generally.

Diet also going well here - not much more to go till back to normal weight.

Am eyeing up 7 for all mankind roxannes for christmas.

I have a great pair from Gap that several people have mistaken for various high end designer (Seven and Earl!). But they are from Gap in US, don't know if they are the same here.

They will however set you back more than £18, so if the others are good, then they might be better.

PS denim quality brilliant.

I love my New Look ones... worn them almost constantly for months, and still look great.

Another vote for Top Shop Baxter here! And I am by no means skinny (ah, the irony...)

pleasechange · 30/11/2009 14:23

matalan £12, really pleased with them

flockwallpaper · 30/11/2009 14:27

Yep, Top Shop are good.

Just got Littlewoods "South" Molly style. Very slim fitting, long in the leg and a nice high waist to hide all the pies..
