Just read about it today - it opens on Friday. I liked some of the stuff on their website but was always put off by the price - plus they'd have to ship it from the US! If I was anywhere near London I'd be tempted to go in and have a nosy.

i was in their shop in US last week and could have spent a fortune - stuff is lovely - quite different and not so expensive when you compare it with similar type stuff.. there will be a UK web site soon .. bankrupcy looms....

paddingtonbear1 · 21/10/2009 17:49

fishie · 21/10/2009 21:50

it will still be a million times better than primark and hennes and all the other cheapo fright shops.

I thought this was another Steiner thread

I know nothing of fashion...

cherryblossoms · 21/10/2009 23:09

hocuspontas - you have truly made me laugh!

Is it going to be on Regent Street? (I seem to recall fishie? talking about it a while back.)

how brilliant!! I thought it was my little secret though! hurray it's coming though

paddingtonbear1 · 21/10/2009 23:26

have looked at the article moondog linked to - didn't realise its parent company was Urban Outfitters!

This bit made me laugh:

"While the candle cost £24, the knickers were merely £14."

The last knickers I bought were 3 for £10 in M&S...

MrsMills · 23/10/2009 14:06

Online shop opening Spring 2010, surely it has to be a lot cheaper than their current charges from US?

And I shall email them and ask them to open in Stockholm too.

OllieWollieWoo · 23/10/2009 14:22

Just hope they dont do what A&F and Banana Republic have done and increase the prices by more than a third compared to the US prices.

fishie · 23/10/2009 20:12

ok i am back. WELL, it is the most lovely shop and the living green wall thing is great. it has three floors all reached by different staircases. i tried on one top which i didn't buy because it was £58 but i am regretting it now because it was very flattering.

they have lovely accessories, i also havered over a necklace for £44. there are a lot of ruffles on their clothes which is not for me because i have curly hair and that is enough.

the staff are all beautifully styled and properly american polite and helpful. i hope they keep that standard up, it didn't happen in gap.

and the customers were all very expensively dressed and looked as though they ought to be famous but they weren't. i think they were just rich.

fishie · 23/10/2009 20:15

top still might go back for it. shocking price but i looked great in it.

hoxtonchick · 23/10/2009 20:25

i'm jealous you've been fishie, i was in ipswich instead of the office today, bugger. tattycoram & i are going to do a proper trip in the 1st week of nov!

fishie · 23/10/2009 21:17

maybe i'll come too hooray. that's if i dont rush in on monday morning for that bloody top.

they have lots of nice headbands too for people who have that sort of hair.

JJ · 23/10/2009 21:32

It's a lovely top and you will wear it a lot and get your money's worth. You will get many compliments-per-wear - a better indicator of a good purchase than cost-per-wear, methinks.

I have been looking at India Knight's photos of the store on her posterous blog. I love that, it's like a local version of notcot.
