OK I know I love to be rude about the Toast catalogue - but ooooooh my djellaba has arrived!

And I love it! Soooo big and warm and soft and long and all-encompassing - loads of space for my pg bump too. It is total sofa-snuggling winter perfection. It is a bit pricey but I'm getting it for my birthday

Admittedly I look like some kind of medieval monk/hobbit hybrid and perhaps style and beauty isn't quite the place I should be with this but... there isn't an "ugly but snuggly" topic...

here

It does look as if it would be comfortable, but obi wan kenobi was what sprung to mind...

May the force of cosiness be with you...

lol at the force of cosiness, I think we need an "ugly but snugly" topic too.

BecauseImWorthIt · 07/10/2009 14:05

Ooh - that looks cosy!

I have a full length, fleecy dressing gown that my sister in law gave me. It's lovely. Except for the huge Winnie the Pooh applique on the front!

This looks much more 'grown up'.

MrsBadger · 07/10/2009 14:19

yes very jedi

I had a pukka one from Marrakech but misguidedly generously gave it to a friend as a present

SausageRocket · 07/10/2009 14:22

what the heck is that ?

LadyoftheBathtub · 07/10/2009 14:28

Are you tempted sausage?

LadyoftheBathtub · 07/10/2009 14:30

MrsB, but was your real one lined with brushed flannel?

OP posts:
MrsBadger · 07/10/2009 15:03

no, it was one layer of heavy brushed cotton

like a pyjama dress

[sigh]

still, at least he appreciated it - he still wears it as a dressing gown and that was nearly ten years ago

LadyoftheBathtub · 07/10/2009 15:11

Well at least you're a lovely generous friend.

Unlike me

jesus shit! how much is the stuff in there?

if i wanted my grannies housecoat - i'd ask her

and she;s dead

LadyoftheBathtub · 07/10/2009 16:31

I know. This is why I've never bought one for myself. But actually I've spent more than that on stuff I don't end up wearing much, like dresses for weddings. I'll wear this every day.

hullygully · 07/10/2009 16:32

You can make your own for a fraction of the price. Get a very large candlewick bedspread. Sew it together. Stand in it. Er, that's it.

LadyoftheBathtub · 07/10/2009 16:33

Hmm but I would like the monster from the pale blue candlewick swamp, instead of... er... Yoda.

i covet just about everything in toast's home section (not old enough for fussed by the clothes) but i only normally buy in the sale, and i dither for ages waiting to see if it'll go into the 90% off bargain bucket. except for my blimmin socks i decided to shell out full price and i've been waiting months for...
