Looking to steal ideas!! Sorted through my drawers and only have few jumpers that fit with my large post baby boobs and tummy. Am only left with a couple of jumpers that are ok and nothing that I love. Just bought a reasonable boyfriend style cardi from New Look.
Need inspiration!

orangina · 22/09/2009 15:22

I bought a great merino sweater from uniqlo, described as sweater dress, but I wear it over skinnies. here, though i didn't get the purple.

am thinking of getting these as well.... this and this...

Can vouch for the quality (and they are a great price at the moment.....)

The most I can afford is my delicious socks from the white company .

ninja · 22/09/2009 20:17

OOhhI like that hunlet, couldn't wear it tho as it's wool

ninja · 22/09/2009 20:24

I've just bought I think it was this today - it looked good on

mwff · 22/09/2009 20:30

got a cashmere jumper on ebay for £30 (always worth a very cheeky "best offer" to see how much you can knock off a BIN). got a size down and wearing it more like a base layer than a jumper over things, cos then you actually get the benefit - supersoftness, warmth, no prickliness etc. i feckin love cashmere.

traceybath · 22/09/2009 20:45

I think AUT09 gives 20% off at the white company - or it was a few days ago.

lavenderkate · 22/09/2009 20:49

mmmm mwfff

ooh traceybath

JeMeSouviens · 22/09/2009 20:52

Has anyone seen something similar to this butterfly turtleneck that zanz1bar linked to earlier, but thicker?

Looking for something to see me through a very cold winter pregnancy, but that can be worn after.

hatcam · 22/09/2009 20:59

orangina - loving the hooded uniqlo sweater - any advice on sizing?

ADifferentMe · 22/09/2009 21:09

Used an internet only M & S 15% off to buy some cashmere V necks a few weeks ago. For some bizarre reason, the colours online aren't the same as the ones in the shop so I just ordered two of everything (12 and 14) as the colour representation is poor. Have returned most but have three left to whittle down to the one I can actually afford.

Also got a lovely £40 one in TK Maxx. In my mind I have turned into Carla Bruni, in reality I probably look more like Frank Bruno, but I'm determined to go for quality in future. I think it really shows with knitwear, shoes and handbags.

mwff · 22/09/2009 21:47

am interested in snob factor of cashmere e.g. if you own both can you tell the difference between supermarket and designer cashmere? i'm well aware of the differences in quality of fibre/yarn at the microscopic level, but i wonder whether this translates into a difference of hand, of discernible quality, in a garment.

lavenderkate · 22/09/2009 22:09

My socks were £73

Mwff - Tesco got in trouble a few years back because their 100% cashmere wasn't....

I have a friend who's rich been buying cashmere for years and says you get what you pay for.

My Boden (sale) cashmere has bobbled badly, my Benetton hasn't.

kateecass · 23/09/2009 11:02

Tesco cashmere I got bobbled very badly.

Got my sister here today, so going to brave the shops with my 3 yo too. Going to check out the cardis and hopefully come back with something that will look fab. Taking 30% Gap voucher too!

hatcam, I got a M and its pretty good for me (am normally 10/12 depending on make/shop...). Not hugely baggy, but more flattering for it. if in doubt, order a few and return what you don't want?

hatcam · 23/09/2009 13:12

thank you, am off to spend spend spend

orangina · 23/09/2009 15:39

Enjoy!

purplepeony · 23/09/2009 17:35

Boden everday fave cardi V neck- used codes etc and got it for £25. Boden Cropped cash- nice.

Usually like Kew but all dark colours sofar... not me.

kateecass · 23/09/2009 21:29

Had a productive afternoon!!
Got the Kookai cardi for £75 in Selfridges as it had 25% off. Got the size 3 but may have to take it back and see if size 2 is better (it took ages for the girl to get that and wasn't waiting for her to get smaller size). Also got the New Look boyfriend cardi with 20% off. Reckon with all that money I saved I can buy the White Company one which I tried on and was loverly.
Saw a couple of people wearing black waterfall cardis which looked great..will see what I can find!
