I like Pavias as I said, mind you length would only be 36cm so not as flattering as 40-42cm which is what I think I want. I like the buckles. Am not v fashion forward though so don't altogether get the brown thing or the what is too clumpy for what thing. They look like they have a good sole for rough ground, which is handy for me, as well as being acceptably smart.

Any chance of them being in the sale, do you think?

I think so. Maybe I should go for a try on though, I haven't really thought through boot buying before, so have 2 or 3 pairs of baggy black boots (lost weight recently) and am not absolutely sure of what looks right for now if you know what I mean. (When peeps say that jeans with black leather look wrong 1. my husband is a biker. His way with denim and black leather does not look particularly middle aged. 2. I grew up thinking brown was v seventies and urgh bland and 3. well I am over 40 so I suppose I am middle aged. but I am still interested in trying to look vaguely contemporary)
