Tattoos - Yes or No?

Time to confess - who's got tattoos? What are they, and where are they? Do you love them, loathe them, wish you'd never got them, hope to get rid of them, or plan to get more?

Always wondered if they seemed like a good idea at the time, and then later become something you'd rather not have the rest of your life...

strugstu · 05/06/2005 00:07

morocco · 05/06/2005 00:10

nope, don't have any, can't even find time to get my hair cut these days never mind sit still for over an hour getting scribbled on - ds does his best to cover me in felt tip pen in recompense

QueenEagle · 05/06/2005 00:10

Oh I like how the laura ashley comments get a but hardly a passing mention of mine. Guess all of you with tatts must still be in the closet then...

Mind you now I come to think of it, I'd rather be thought of as a lezzie than a laura ashley...type.

JoolsToo - isn't it through round over and off?

Earlybird · 05/06/2005 09:58

Doesn't it really hurt to get a tattoo? Or has that been exaggerated?

OP posts:
jessicasmummy · 05/06/2005 10:04

my first one on my r shoulder didnt hurt and was really suprised.... however the one at the base of my spine.... well thats a different matter!!! I stupidly hadnt eaten before going and having it done, and because of the way i had to sit while he did it, once i sat upright i passed out and puked all over the shop floor

i learnt from this, and think that if i WAS to get another, i would definately eat first!!!

mine is a mean looking fairy with her tits out.

If that's not class I don't know what is. Custy is dead right.

suzywong · 05/06/2005 11:11

I don't have any but dh has some and they are gorgeous

I might draw one on in felt tip and leave it for a couple of weeks just to test the water though. Don't know where though.

JoolsToo · 05/06/2005 11:12

cod - you crack me up!

aloha · 05/06/2005 11:47

I don't even want to wear the same shade of nail varnish for more than a couple of weeks.

vickiyumyum · 05/06/2005 11:54

tattoos are a form of expression and the pain involved in getting them done release pent up aggression!!!! so says total tattoo magazine and my dh agrees with that to a certain extent. he says that he looks forward to getting his tattoos done and starts to get withdrawal symptoms if he hasn't had one for a while.

i can kind of see his point though, i have three at the moment, one on my shoulder, four flowers at the base of my spine and one on my wrist. and find myself looking for possible designs and places to put them that can be covered up when the occassion requires it.

i will have aproffessional job when i qualify and realise that people make assumptions based on what you look like, this is why all of mine are and will be able to be covered up when at work. what about the one on my wrist, i hear some of you say well a watch takes care of that

hercules · 05/06/2005 11:56

I am a different person now to who I was in my early twenties and the thought of having a tattoo from that time still with me today fills me with horror.
