maxi dress

it looks quite eveningy as its strapless but as its in fact cotton could i poss get away with it for daytime without looking utterly mad??? or is the colour also a bit yuck? cant really tell what it might be like in RL iyswim

i am 5ft8, with short blond/ash crazy hair, size 14 with a 12 waist but bad legs hence the love of maxi dresses

Bold print and excellent price

Fimbo · 08/05/2009 16:28

What?

FigmentOfYourImagination · 08/05/2009 16:29

what can't you believe ?

belcantwait · 08/05/2009 16:30

figment- thanks for the links. amazingly am not keen on the pricy one. quite like the middle one but is similar to something i already have. maybe its the colours of them i'm not too keen on. sorry .am hard to please.

perhaps i dont have exactly the same taste as other people

I think you could wear it in the daytime. It's very fresh and summery and not OTT I think.

It would also suit you (presuming you haven't undergone any dramatic transformations since I last saw you

Fimbo · 08/05/2009 16:31

Well it wouldn't do if we were all the same would it . You go for what you want.

Greensneeze · 08/05/2009 16:32

sorry, I only looked at the one in the OP (I don't have all day to lounge about appraising frocks, tsk)

belcantwait · 08/05/2009 16:32

quite like this too

Greensneeze · 08/05/2009 16:33

I really like that last one too, nice shape and print

but I like the OP one better

FigmentOfYourImagination · 08/05/2009 16:33

TBH, the dresses I linked to (apart from the pretty ££££ one) are not my taste at all. I was looking for a go anywhere maxi dress, not specifically one that I liked !

FigmentOfYourImagination · 08/05/2009 16:34

The last one is nice but not dressy enough for evening, I don't think

Fimbo · 08/05/2009 16:37

Now that Warehouse one is nice.

MummyAnnabella · 08/05/2009 16:41

buy the baby ceylon and wear to party then day to day after. never any harm in looking good day to day. you will get your money's worth if you just put on anytime you are going out anywhere.

my hairdresser was wearing a v glam maxi the other day - to cut hair! she even had one of those nicole ritchie style headbands round her forehead!

all customers were just going "wow you look fab" and "good on you"

belcantwait · 08/05/2009 16:46

i have attempted the headband round the head thing but it looked sooo wrong on me. dh mearly phsl

Fimbo · 08/05/2009 16:48

Oh my dd has one of those bands.

I think that whole look is very 70's flake advert.

belcantwait · 08/05/2009 16:53

ooooh, i used to pretend to be the layydeee in the flake advert wheni was little- the one on the back of the gypsy caravan. so romantic

i could murder a flake right now actually

Only the flakiest crumbliest chocolate.

Actually I prefer Flake Dipped - they are the dogs whatsits.

bunnymother · 08/05/2009 18:00

The Baby Ceylon one is lovely, too, and I think you should buy it because you love it so much. Anything else won't be quite right in comparison.

Oh thanks, now have that Flake song in my mind!!

Happy shopping!

LittleMissBliss · 08/05/2009 18:09

I've just done this and it worked for ds,
and has said this baby will be girl!!

Maybe something to do just for fun! Those of you that know the sex already can report back to let me know if it was right or wrong for you!

LittleMissBliss · 08/05/2009 18:09

oops wrong thread

ThePhantomPlopper · 08/05/2009 18:12

1st one is nice and I reckon you could get away with it as day wear.

The ££££ is horrid, reminds me of Nicole Kidman for some reason.

Warehouse one that Belc linked too is also nice.
