anyone there?

Well, I love to spend money on shoes and CL and Jimmy Choo are my favourites!
I think they should offer at least 30%. The style of the shoe means a scratch is very obvious. They wont be able to sell them on their main site and they will be packed off to the Outnet, which will probably offer 30%.
I agree with saying they were for a wedding and complaining that you are very disappointed.
They may not care, in which case you should get a refund and buy from someone else.

LetThemEatCake · 10/05/2009 17:29

I sent them a snippy email yesterday morning saying that I was disappointed with their 'apathetic' response to the issue and that I had bought them for a wedding yesterday, so was inconvenienced to boot.

They wrote back and said that my images were being assessed by the quality control dept and that they would get back to me by mid next week.

Hmph.

In the meantime, I had about 10 more "oh my god your shoes are amazing" comments from people today (including a women in a ££££ shoe shop) ... and I was wearing my £8 gold ones from Primark.

Gok would be proud

Definitely say you want 50% of the price in a credit note, or you're sending them back.

blondissimo · 11/05/2009 14:33

What shoes did you get from Primark? With all your lovely comments you have had, am thinking I might get a pair myself? Any pics?

blondissimo · 11/05/2009 14:38

P.S. Lovin' the Choos - I used to work in retail and it was the unspoken rule that it was 10% off if an item was damaged or faulty, but that made it unreturnable. I'd try and push for a bit more if I were you just in case they have a different policy.

LetThemEatCake · 12/05/2009 10:12

blondissimo: will post pics of the Primark shoes later today!

well, Netaporter have just phoned and offered £60 off. Hmm. Not sure I am happy with that. Told them that I would rather have store credit to a greater amount, so they've gone off to see what the decision-makers say...

will keep you posted ...

That's only a 13.7% discout. No where near enough, IMO - you would expect more from a sale, frankly, and given that these shoes are now only fit for a sale - as damaged goods - they should offer you better than that.

  1. if they don't offer you double that in store credit, I really would send them back. They sent you faulty merchandise. Not acceptable. Really, think about it: would you pay £370 for them now if you saw them in a shop? No way. They're partly relying on the fact that internet shopping and returns: a) happens on impulse; b) is more of a hassle if something goes wrong.

  2. When they come back to you, maybe point out to them that you have been discussing this on a well-known website, frequented by lots of yummy mummies (ahem ). I for one am quite disappointed in NAP for this, and would think twice about ordering anything so expensive from them. If you get a less than satisfactory outcome, all of us will know about it... Bad press, and all that...

  3. If you send them back, point out that in the name of good relations, they might like to refund you the postal costs as well.

Penthesileia · 12/05/2009 10:25

discount

Really, don't be swayed by your own love of the shoes and good nature. You cheerfully suggested that maybe you would've scratched them anyway yourself, so perhaps you should just accept them. No way, Jose. These are expensive goods; part of the pleasure is receiving a perfect, beautiful pair of shoes, not a tarnished dream...

ilove · 12/05/2009 10:28

ooh shoes! Now that my feet fit into normal shoes, I'm turning into a bit of an Imelda Marcos!

Flamesparrow · 12/05/2009 10:44

Oooh I love posh shoe threads

I can't walk in heels without looking like bambi on ice, I have no money, but I love the idea of fabulous shoes.

Agree with everyone on their discount amounts and fighting.

BernardsCat · 12/05/2009 10:48

Oh fgs just have the shoes!

LetThemEatCake · 12/05/2009 18:02

they've come back with an offer of £90. Refund, not credit.

OP posts:
blondissimo · 12/05/2009 19:55

If I was you I think I would take that tbh. If you are happy with the shoes the way they are that is.

Penthesileia · 12/05/2009 20:35

Well, that's 20.6%. So not too bad.

Ok, so if you saw them in the store, marked as "scratched", with a 20% discount, would you buy them?

LetThemEatCake · 12/05/2009 22:09

to be honest, I think I would. I tend to be hard on my shoes anyway so I guess my reasoning would be
a) well, I would have done that within a few wears myself and b) who's going to see it all the way down there??

So I think I'll take it.

Blondissimo: have posted a photo of the Primark shoes. And also one of the scratched Choo so that you can all see what I was banging on about!! It's so hard to see though cos the material is so reflective - all you can really see is my great looming form, iPhone in hand, trying to get a good shot!!!!

OP posts:
Penthesileia · 12/05/2009 22:35

OMFG! You are totally STUNNING, as are your gorgeous kids and hubbie too!!!! You remind me of Thandie Newton in that top photo with your lovely babies.

The important thing is that you feel good about the shoes, and aren't left with any nagging feeling, IYSWIM.

Is the scratch on the inside of the left shoe? That would make it less visible too, I suppose.

LetThemEatCake · 12/05/2009 23:14

Um, thanks! I don't see it, but I'll take the compliment thanks! (especially as my dh makes no secret of the fact that he totally fancies Thandie Newton, lol)

yes, the scratch is on the inside of the left shoe - so not very noticeable at all, unless you were lifting them in awe and expectation out of their ribbon-festooned box, a la moi last week!!!!

NorkyButNice · 13/05/2009 08:38

LTEC - completely off topic, but did you write a magazine article about your wedding?

You are the spitting image of a girl who got married in the same dress in Australia (I think) and I remember reading about the wedding thinking it sounded lovely!

And agree - you are gorgeous (as are your kids!)

blondissimo · 13/05/2009 08:59

Thanks Cake for the Primark pic - they actually look really pricey don't they? Also am loving the nail enamel - any chance you could clue me in on that too? Don't worry I am not stalking you!!! Just like your style!

Flamesparrow · 13/05/2009 09:18

ooh I really like the primark shoes, and I'm not normally a shiny shoe person

LetThemEatCake · 13/05/2009 12:24

hi blondissimo - the nail varnish is a navy blue colour, just from Superdrug .. there's a pricier option at about £5.95 but I just went for the cheapy Miss Sporty at £1.99!!! And not worried about stalking at all, am flattered - thanks!!

Norky - my god, you have got the best memory!!! yes, that was me. I'm a journalist and used to do lots of work for a wedding mag so when I got married (2005) they asked me to do a piece on our own wedding.

And I have to agree that my children are lovely

Fimbo · 13/05/2009 12:31

Ooh I like the Primark ones. Our local one always has a load of cack.

What's a shoe/frock enabler?

LetThemEatCake · 13/05/2009 12:43

someone who encourages you and makes you feel good about expensive clothing purchases rather than sniffing in disapproval and carrying on about how they could feed their family for a year on with your weekly clothing budget ....

OP posts:
Fimbo · 13/05/2009 12:49

Ah

blondissimo · 13/05/2009 13:29

at the definition of shoe/frock enabler. I have been one for many years to my friends and I didn't even know it. Their dc's may be eating gruel, but at least they have a snappy dresser picking them up from school every day
