I got pair of black shiny leather riding boots from oasis, £130 down to £60.

I Zara coat down by only £10 to £89 (but was last one and it is 100% pure wool gorgeousness)

Some Laura Ashley home things - an etched mirror, matching mirrored etched box, matching mirrored tealight holders (all half price and all very beautiful)

Miss Selfridge skinny jeans at £20 instead of £35 (actually for these before christmas so does that count?)

I have only done online as DD been ill and couldn't face the crowds anyway. I got from Topshop a long sleeved t shirt, a short sleeved cardi, a shirt/blouse thing and some knickers. I am very pleased with myself as they were all things I'd looked at and thought were nice but couldnt afford at full price. Also got a few bits before christmas from Boden but all for DD apart from one top for me which they sent in the wrong colour Oh and I got DD a gorgeous bedspread from John Lweis because she is about to move into a bed from a cot. It was £29 down from £60 odd I think. It is so lovely and again its something I would have got anyway so I don't feel too guilty.

really nice skirt, 38 eu reduced from 68, quite a few nice tops to go with jeans, mostly about 75% off and some really lovely brown leather boots, reduced from Mexx, 139 eu to 64 but then had a 20eu gift voucher so seems an even better bargain.

bought some clothes online from bravissimo, waiting on tem arriving, and a ouple of cardies in the shop at uniqlo (£15 each)

otherwise, have been v disappointed with the sales in the shops, seens to be sales signs plastered all over the place then a small corner of the shop devoted to real tat, discounted, , and everything else full price.

Sycamoretree · 01/01/2009 10:48

Went mad in Selfridges pj and lingerie dept. PJ's down to a tenner from stupid pounds and bras at a fiver and also pants. Lovely Elle Macpherson stuff and Princess Tam Tam. I am now sexed up for the NY - hurrah! Now just need to figure out how DH will ever see me in it....

Bought a lovely new winter coat in Reiss - half price. Been dreaming of it for a year since I lost nearly 4 stone. Been wearing a big old puffa since as was the only thing that still fitted me from the old slim days pre baby. Now I am officially swanky for my return to work.

oxocube · 01/01/2009 11:09

soopermum, I have shopped at Bravissimo for bras and bikinis in the past but always find their sales rubbish - either things are very poorly discounted or with the swim stuff, they never have any bikini bottoms other that XL . What did you buy? [nosy emoticon]!!

LittleChristmasCracker · 01/01/2009 11:32

ibought fab Bertie black shoes reduced from £80 to £25, sales assistants told me they had only been in for a month .....

Hi oxocube

I got these

www.bravissimo.com/products/clothing/dresses-and-skirts/bravissimo/bh36-details.aspx

www.bravissimo.com/products/clothing/shirts-and-tops/bravissimo/bc27-details.aspx?colour= White

www.bravissimo.com/products/clothing/shirts-and-tops/bravissimo/bl21-details.aspx?co lour=Praline

www.bravissimo.com/products/clothing/shirts-and-tops/bravissimo/bl27-details. aspx?colour=Black

sorry, can't do nice and tidy links!

you're right, they are expensive, I'd never buy clothes from there normally at the prices, but the sale prices brought them down to a price I was more willing to pay. I suppose they're pricey as they have to make so many different sizes and it's still a bit of a niche thing, but I am delighted as this will be the first time I've been able to wear a shirt or wraparound top in years! I tred on one of the shirts in the shop and it fitted nicely.

oxocube · 01/01/2009 15:06

Oh good for you . Will look at those in a minute!

I must admit to wondering whether Bravissimo would appear on the 'businesses to go down in 2009' type threads. I think their bras fit really well but so pricey!

soopermum1 · 01/01/2009 23:58

i think, judging on the large amount of praising bravissimo gets on here that it'll do ok, definetely on underwear at least. personally, a good bra is a necessity and if I had to, I'd scrimp on clothes rather than the bra.they also have the internet side of the business, which will be cheaper to run that the shops.

SilverSixpence · 02/01/2009 10:00

Just got my package from Warehouse, got this gorgeous dress and I love it! absolute bargain at 25 pounds, much better than anything i saw in the Monsoon sale and pure silk! And more importantly fits despite having 6 month old DS . Also got some great suede boots half price here too.
