I like all the stuff in top shop etc but I just don't want to bare so much skin and i have post-baby lumps and bumps that need disguising.
I'm specifically looking for christmas night out clothes.

Where do women in their 30s buy fashionable clothes for nights out?

Thanks

PuppyMonkey · 09/11/2008 20:48

Monsoon, Jigsaw, White Stuff, Zara

even though I'm in my 40s now actually..

yama · 09/11/2008 20:49

Warehouse and Jane Norman are okay. Um ... Oasis. Reiss is good but expensive.

Don't like Next and Monsoon personally.

Good question - will be keeping my eye on this one.

GAP have some lovely things at the moment - dresses and blouses especially. I was there yesterday and the current collection is quite on trend but was a bit more forgiving that the topshop/newlook stuff I tried on .

yama · 09/11/2008 20:52

French Connection.

pickie · 09/11/2008 20:52

if you have big norks, Bravissimo do some good dresses/tops

rookiemater · 09/11/2008 20:53

Phase Eight, but avoiding the sparkly stuff

scaryfucker · 09/11/2008 20:54

jane norman, yuk

If you want an Xmas night out outfit that's not too revealing what about a blouse and black jeans with funky shoes? Bootcut jeans are back (apparently!) and black's v slimming and there are loads of great blouses around. I've got one from French Connection but Hennes has some lovely ones if you don't want to spend a fortune.

you lot are brilliant!

i've been looking through the websites of the one's i hadn't thought of like mango, zara etc.

wonderwoman73, i think that's the look i'm looking for. something that covers up my arms. i have a catch22 with my waist though...i need some shape to show that i do have a waist but it needs to be not so clingy lower down to hide the muffin top.

i'm going to carry on looking through the websites. thanks for all the suggestions everyone.

Crikey.

TheBlonde · 09/11/2008 21:30

www.shopstyle.co.uk/ is quite a good site

LetThemEatCake · 09/11/2008 22:54

that drape front thing is bloody hideous!

I buy all my "party clothes" on netaporter. Usually on sale mind you but you just can't go past it for frocks - and their delivery & returns service is ace.

(Am 36 next month)

suwoo · 09/11/2008 22:57

Reiss and French Connection and a bit of Top Shop.

It's hard as you don't feel old but don't want to look like mutton.

I am 38. I think the most ageing look, beloved by many mummies I go out with, is jeans, sparkly tops and spangly sandals.

It's like some sort of middle aged uniform!

cornsilk · 09/11/2008 23:00

coast, phase eight, karen millen, gap
