Last year I managed to find Ds (5) a bargain pair of Timberland boots, which he wore to death, but this year I can't find any within budget that I like.

In the summer he wore converse and crocs. His converse stil fit, but aren't warm or waterproof enough for winter weather.

What are your little lads wearing ??

ds just wears school shoes at school - ie boring black ones, and trainers at weekends/evenings
He had some sandals in the summer
Don't get why they would need anything else

LunarSea · 03/11/2008 20:46

school shoes, trainers, football boots, ski boots, snow boots or wellies, depending upon what he happens to be doing at the time.

I usually look for ankle-height leather boots for him for winter, ideally fleecy/fake furry on the inside. I've had good ones from Start-rite before... he's currently wearing Clarks Tyres but will need something a bit higher and warmer in winter.

ds1 (11) has school shoes, nike trainers for out of school and a myriad of different sports shoes for doing different sports in (all required by school and all costing a fortune as he obviously grows out of them all at the same time )

ds2 has school shoes, school trainers and a pair of ricosta ankle boots from last year which he doesn't really fit into anymore and the soles have gone but he loves - must replace them - got them from an independent shoe shop locally

My DS's (4 and 8) both have:

Brown Kickers (boots) for weekends
Bright wellies
Trainers for sports only (cannot stand to see kids in trainers when not doing sport tbh.....I know, the teens are going to hit me hard )
School shoes
And they still wear their flip flops around the house sometimes too

They have both always worn brown lace up boots for the winter - either Elefanten, Timberland, Kickers or even Vertbaudet's suede ankle boots.

Am hoping to get my eldest in Converse in the spring....they look so cool on kids.

woolly crocs ! He loved his summer ones he nagged for the winter ones after he'd seen them in the garden centre. Must admit they keep his feet lovely and warm and best of all the liners go in the wash

LIZS · 03/11/2008 21:44

ds has Timberland hybrid trainers atm then Tchibo ankle boots for really cold weather.

gigglewitch · 03/11/2008 21:48

mine wear wellies and walking boots as we are usually off on walks / outdoorsy stuff.
ds2 (5) has some timberland-style boots from the local seconds shop and we've put waterproofing on them. They have a pair of smart trainers each which they wear for most things indoor.

converse, crocs, trainers or wellies

atowncalledalice · 03/11/2008 22:07

DS1 (17) is still wearing his flip flops. I despair.

DS2 (8) is young enough to be coerced: he wears Timberland boots or trainers.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 03/11/2008 22:08

School shoes
or

Wellies/trainers (6yr old)

Timberlands/trainers (8yr old)

Buda · 04/11/2008 12:17

DS is 7 and has Clarks trainers for outdoors - the get destroyed as he plays so much football at playtime. Also has black Clarks for indoors at school, trainers for indoors at school, fleece-lined crocs which he wears as slippers. I will also have to get him some snowboots.

SammyK · 04/11/2008 12:22

DS has some timberland style boots that have bob the builder on, some red wellies, and some dark brown, trainer style things with velcro straps that he can do himself.

Definately too cold and damp for cons.

Trainers.

The youngest wears wellies if we go anywhere wet. The oldest just wears his board trainers And gets wet feet.

mysteryfairy · 05/11/2008 18:32

Not sure what your budget is and we are not Timberland wearers but they always seem to be cheap on M&M Direct.

Would any of these fit the bill:
cheap timberlands
