What's your favourite Mascara??

I'm sick of wasting money on rubbish mascaras. I need a new one this weekend, one that isn't cloggy, not too heavy, (but can be built up in layers for when I'm feeling dramatic) and makes my eyelashes look lustrous, silky and gorgeous. Oh, and won't dry out in the bottle after a couple of weeks (and no, I never pump the wand rapidly thereby introducing drying air bubbles into the bottle). Would love to discover a fab one that's not too expensive. Although will think about an expensive one if needs be.

Thanks!!

another hater of maybelline, the green and pink and black and white both rubbish, I think maybelline in general is useless, and never does what it proposes. I'm using N07 at mo pretty good

GOTO DISAGREE I LOVE MABELLINE......
MY FRIEND IN FRANCE USED TO SEND ME ONE CALLED RICILS BUT THEN FOUND OUT IT WAS SAME COMPANY SO NOW I GET IT HERE..... NOT SURE OF NAME ITS IN A DARK BLUE TUBE...

MY DP BOUGHT ME ONE OF THE NEW ONES WITH THE WHITE ON 1 SIDE AND BLK ON THE OTHER (ITS FAB)
THATS REVLON THOUGH LASH FANTASY

My friend, who's a real mascara boffin, swears by a Maybelline one called "Illegal Lengths, but she has only found it in the usa. She doesn't rate any of the others.

I've tried a couple of Maybelline myself (but not the pink and green, or black and white) and was not impressed at all.

Yes she was! And she was in full make up And it didn't look too bad. Amazing I asked her about the Hypnose and she said it was great, but might be a bit glam for me during the day as I'm quite fair.

another vote for Bad Gal by benefit - does what it says

for daytime i use Mavala black non-waterproof which was recommended by an opthalmologist i met (who incidentally has some A-list clients, so reckon he must be good) for sensitive eyes - it doesnt feel like its doing damage to your eyes or your lashes like some of the others do IYKWIM

After cruising various online reviews as well as this thread I tried to get bloody Definicils in THREE shops today (in glamorous Bromley ) and none of them had it in black. Although I then found I'd lost my switch card anyway.

Estee Lauder MagnaScopic - brill

motherinferior · 13/03/2005 17:37

I did wonder about that. Although the lost switch card sort of threw everything anyway (it's traced and I'm getting a new one - left it by accident in the supermarket after going mad with Queuing Rage yesterday). Definitely brown, you think?

turquoise · 13/03/2005 17:44

I had such a major reaction to the maybelline pink and green one that I couldn't wear eyemakeup or contacts for months, hate hate hate it.

bundle · 13/03/2005 17:50

oh motherinferior, i wish i'd knowni was in johnny lou lou's yesterday handing over 16.50 worth of switch action myself on a brown one.there was quite a run on the hypnose too and i looked sideways and thought "at your age" but resisted the temptation to say it

hercules · 13/03/2005 17:51

Used to use Maybelline pink and green one, then tried Clinique and a white and black one. Didnt really like either of the latter two and so now I'm back on maybelline pink and green. Feel good when buying as it's so cheap compared to clinique.

"Hello all, I'm just here to you know this thread is of no interest to me at all. I for one am way too busy to post on such a pointless thread. If this topic was of any interest to me I might post on this thread, but as it is this topic is of no interest to me whatsoever".

There's always one, eh dropinthe? Wink
