What to wear to uber trendy gig tonight?

The main objective is to look effortlessly stylish.

The outfit must work with my coat du jour. A gun metal grey pea cot with massive turquoise and gold buttons (so nice)

I'm thinking jeans to balance the bling of the coat, but , meh.

She's said who it is - you lot are rubbish

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 30/09/2008 15:01

I already said, it's hot club de paris at the 100 club and then johnny foreigner at madame jojos.

Judge away

I think very skinny jeans and fuck-me patents (possibly with slight platform) in bright colour. There we go

zippitippitoes · 30/09/2008 15:03

last gig i went to band wore orange boiler suits and wrap around shades

like this

I can't do skinny jeans, I have huge hips and a tiny waist, never works.

OP posts:
DrNortherner · 30/09/2008 15:06

But you can TDWP.

You need a tunic top to wear with them to hide the big hips.

How big are we talking?

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 30/09/2008 15:09

size 12 bottom, size 8 top, but I have long legs. I'm yet to find skinny jeans that suit me.

Would a tunic type dress with opaques and high heeled mary janes be too ott?

Heathcliffscathy · 30/09/2008 15:09

drnortherner is right. skinny jeans in biker-y boots (comfy) with gothy rock chick eyes (lots of black and grey).

great look

Heathcliffscathy · 30/09/2008 15:10

if you haven't got skinny jeans, and you can't pull off high waist wide legged jeans then don't go in jeans whatever you do.

Snaf · 30/09/2008 15:10

No, it would be good - you are going to Madame Jojos after all. What colours? You need some good jewellery too.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 30/09/2008 15:10

I always have rock chick eyes, started a thread about it recently. I can't go out without lots of eyeliner, mascara and smokey grey /brown/ dark green eyeshadow.

are jeans totally unfashionable now?

I love my boyfriend jeans, are they over?

OP posts:
TheDevilWearsPrimark · 30/09/2008 15:12

I have tunic type dresses of all varieties, long sleeved, short sleeved, plain , patterned, on the knee, mini skirt etc.

Maybe ballet flats would dress it down a bit?

OP posts:
Heathcliffscathy · 30/09/2008 15:13

boyfriend jeans and peacoat?

do you think?

boyfriend jeans and bikery/aviatory jacket (not the minging brown ones i'm thinking leather jacket with elasticated cuffs you know what i mean) maybe?

i hope your boyfriend jeans don't have any stupid dye lines pretending to be creases and fades [adopts very stern look]

Heathcliffscathy · 30/09/2008 15:14

OR, your best tunicy dress/top dress over black leggings and biker-y boots. with aforementioned make up

Snaf · 30/09/2008 15:16

Deends how you want to feel. You are going to see HCDP and then to Madame Jojos, so I don't think you necessarily need to dress down that much.

I would probably end up wearing the flats but I am a chicken

nailpolish · 30/09/2008 15:16

you cant wear heels to a concert
believe me, i know, i was close to amputating my fee t the lastt iem i wore 3 inchers to a concert

sorry i cant say 'gig'

id wear

dress
leggings
biker boots or the like
tons of eye make up
tons of bangles

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 30/09/2008 15:16

No, they are actually quite smart, a thick weave semi grey blue denim. Just baggy, and so comfy. I have other fab coats I could wear.

Oh the bloody decisions.

OP posts:
TheDevilWearsPrimark · 30/09/2008 15:17

leggings! oh no. Only for the gym

OP posts:
nailpolish · 30/09/2008 15:17

pixie boots achchewerly instead of biker ones come to think of it

nailpolish · 30/09/2008 15:17

k then jeans
but with a pea coat they have to be bootcut or skinny flares

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 30/09/2008 15:22

Oh oooor. I have an utterly fab dress. Deep purple, mid thigh. sleeveless and round neck with a sort of circular band around the neck and shoulders not flappy, attached(iyswim).

Then around the neck it has various gold metally bits and black dark purple and cream stones attached. Loads of them, in a boho haphazard kind of way.

Maybe that with chunky black wooden bangles black 80 deniers and black ballets?

OP posts:
TheDevilWearsPrimark · 30/09/2008 15:23

I'd wear it with my charcoal grey knee length single breasted wool coat.
