I don't think I would have purchased for either of my two dd's but I think it is really lovely to see children in bright cheerful coloured clothes that are not fashion items trying to make them look like somethings they are not .

I used to wear poncho's when I was little - a long long time ago......

Ideal in the winters for keeping warm as they fit over a coat and great for batman wings.

MasterBatesLePew · 19/09/2008 13:11

Oh they're great for playing superheros

Aitch · 19/09/2008 13:11

love it, NA. your boy can carry it off, no problem.

expatinscotland · 19/09/2008 13:14

oooo, i'd like one of those for the DDs, too.

seeker · 19/09/2008 13:14

I think it's lovely. But I wouldn't dress a boy who was out of babydom in it. And I love bright colours on boys and dressed mine in them until he got old enough to stop me. But ponchos are for girls - sorry.

TrinityRhino · 19/09/2008 13:16

love it

nappyaddict · 19/09/2008 13:18

ah i'm more of the opinion ponchos are ok up to about 4ish on boys.

You obviously haven't got my ds!

I think the problem is that people SHOULD be able to wear what they want and dress their children however they want. But they can't because they will get unwanted comments from strangers and from family and other children. And while a grown up can make the decision to ignore such comments, children can't. That's why I trimmed my ds's hair the minute he noticed that people sometimes mistook him for a girl. I didn't want to do it - it was beautiful. But I don't think that I had a right to impose my views on him, IYSWIM.

ds is only 2 so he isn't old enough to care about what he looks like yet.

I like it. But omg, I'd never pay that much for one item of clothing.

Fimbo · 19/09/2008 14:47

My gran used to crochet things like that for me as a child and blankets.

My dh would divorce me if I tried to put something like that on ds.

nappyaddict · 19/09/2008 14:48

are the shops by me unusally expensive to where you lot all shop. i routinely pay about £10 for things like jumpers.

MadreInglese · 19/09/2008 14:49

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Well on the plus side you won't need relective patches if you take him out at night in that.

Miyazaki · 19/09/2008 14:50

I don't think it's expensive either na...
