I really love this sweater but can in no way justify the cost - PLEASE come and be rude about it and put me off!

Here it is

I keep drooling over it - not sure why I like it so much, I just do - even DH said "coo, she's - er, I mean that's nice"

But ONE HUNDRED AND TEN SMACKERS!

OP posts:
Chequers · 11/09/2008 20:44

It wouldn't fit under a coat.

LilRedWG · 11/09/2008 20:45

Right - Just think, everytime your DH looks at you in that sweater he will really be imagining the model from the picture! Do you really want that?

chapstickchick · 11/09/2008 20:45

youd get makeup on the collar and your wrists will get cold cos its short lengthed........any mark would show up on it and you could only wear smart tops under

Carmenere · 11/09/2008 20:46

It is a bit middle aged tbh.

beansmum · 11/09/2008 20:46

I HATE the sleeves. I don't mind 3/4 length on tight tops, but when they are flared like that they just get in the way. And if you have short arms like me they are always too long. I wouldn't wear that colour either.

differentID · 11/09/2008 20:46

if you have big norks it's going to make them look even bigger, if you have small norks, it's going to make them tiny
Is that what you mean?

cornsilk · 11/09/2008 20:46

It won't cover your tummy or your bum. What about fat days?

traceybath · 11/09/2008 20:46

it may make you look a little chunky and for that price i'd personally want more cashmere and less wool

pooka · 11/09/2008 20:47

Looks a bit matronly to me.

Purplepillow · 11/09/2008 20:47

OMG thats horrid, you'll get drafts up the sleeves, chills on your tummy and the neck will really annoy you!

Did that put you off it enough then?

beansmum · 11/09/2008 20:47

You have to have it done up all the time, that would annoy me.

used2bthin · 11/09/2008 20:47

I got one reeeally similar from Primark. Well ok not the angora bit but the style. For £8.

TigerFeet · 11/09/2008 20:48

It won't keep you warm - it doesn't button all the way! You'd forever be pulling it closed at the bottom

expatinscotland · 11/09/2008 20:48

it.is.ugly!

what a horrible, boring colour.

would make penelope cruz look washed out.

it makes the model look frumpy.

AND it's a bloody rip off.

southeastastra · 11/09/2008 20:48

looks like something my nan used to wear, think she knitted it herself

Doobydoo · 11/09/2008 20:48

It's IVORY! How old are your sprogs? It would last approx 5 mins in my house. It is fab though.Maybe in different colour!

nickytwotimes · 11/09/2008 20:49

It'll never keep your belly warm...

pococonejo · 11/09/2008 20:49

Blimey you lot are vicious!

Right, bearing in mind your previous comments, and noting the prices of the following, do you genuinely hate either or both of these:

Contender number 1

Contender number 2

SorenLorensen · 11/09/2008 20:49

I'm not keen on those 3/4 length sleeves either - I always feel like I'm wearing children's clothes when I wear sleeves like that. And that high neck would bug me (and not be good for anyone of more ample norks than that model). And the colour! You just know you would splat spag bol or some other "this will never come out and there will always be a faint orangey stain" foodstuff on it - bad enough when the item in question has cost £30...devastating if it's £110.

Have I put you off yet?

GrimmaTheNome · 11/09/2008 20:50

Its got a neck like an old-fashioned diving suit, and then it gapes down the front.

SorenLorensen · 11/09/2008 20:50

Oooh, we have more knitwear to peruse. My comments relate to original knitwear

EffiePerine · 11/09/2008 20:50

are you thin? If not, I wouldn't go for either tbh

OneLieIn · 11/09/2008 20:50

So its £55 per button!

expatinscotland · 11/09/2008 20:50

no. 1 is okay, but they're all going to add a lot of weight.

differentID · 11/09/2008 20:51

genuinely? I don't like that style with thye big buttons at the top anyway
