Looking at buying this pouch are they worth it?

I've bought several zip-up velvet pouches from Elizabeth Scarlett (as gifts) and I have to say they're gorgeous and they make a lovely gift.

Yes, it's pricey for a pouch (never bought one for myself), but they really are nice.

Sorry, I sound like an advert but I promise I'm not!

That's not actually the nicest design of theirs that I've seen, though. There are better ones imo. If you google them you might find something you like more. Though not necessarily Christmassy.

I have a couple of their makeup bags. They are beautiful while slightly different and really well made.

Ownedbyabeagle · Today 02:48

I received one as a gift, different design, I love it.

Focusispower · Today 03:50

Not the pouch but the large tote with embroidered gold suns was my summer bag and it’s fantastic. Such lovely quality.

TaptheCap · Today 04:05

I love them. Might treat myself.

QueenMummyTheFirst · Today 06:10

They are beautiful, and really well made. I was given one as a gift, which I use as a case for my ereader, and have given them as gifts to others.

If you go on their website they have loads of lovely designs and colours, and for a bit extra (I think it's about £10) you can have initials embroidered. I think they are well worth the money as a special treat or gift.

moose62 · Today 06:12

I have given her range as presents and they are very good quality.
It might be worth looking at her own website to see the large variety and if they have any new customer offers!

hattie43 · Today 06:13

Yes I’ve given a few as gifts and received a few as gifts . They are lovely , well made and practical. There is a huge range of designs and I’d go and explore their website before deciding .

Roomforapony · Today 06:15

I bought several different items from Elizabeth Scarlett as Christmas and birthday gifts for family members and they have all been delighted with them.
I loved them so much I “gifted” an everyday pouch and toiletry bag to myself!😂

Lifestooshort71 · Today 06:21

I was given a beautiful one a couple of years back, stunning design and colours, but I've never used it for anything. Being velvet, I wouldn't want to use it for make-up and it's a bit clumsy to pack for a holiday. Perhaps it was just wasted on me!

QueenMummyTheFirst · Today 06:25

Out of interest, and not to derail the thread, but what do others use them for?

I love the pouches, and would like more, if I had a use for them (back to front, I know!). Maybe for paper and pens/ art supplies on the go? Make up (although I know they do more "3D" make up pouches)? Books?

DuchesseChou · Today 06:30

I have bought some make up bags/tote bags as gifts and also for myself. They seem to be that rare thing these days, a quality product and beautiful too.

Plus 2% of the profit goes to wildlife conservation.

I might get one in the sale

Zanatdy · Today 06:33

Saw some of these in John Lewis yesterday. They are lovely.

hattie43 · Today 06:34

Travel mainly , One is for my kindle , one is for my phone charger , ear plugs , cables , another holds my passport / boarding pass / train tickets although the use of this is diminishing as everything is on my phone now . Another is emergency kit if I get stranded or luggage goes astray , knickers , deodorant mini and mini face care / toothbrush .

I keep two in my bag. The larger one, I keep a packet of tissues, couple of sanitary pads and some paracetamol. The smaller one has a lipstick and a little bottle of perfume. They are so nice and help me keep my bag organised!

MamaClausToTheRescue · Today 07:15

I have several and really like them. I used them mostly as handbag organisers and for travelling to separate and organise my belongings.

I don’t know if it’s because they are velvet but they do just feel a bit luxurious / special.

The one you’ve linked to is absolutely beautiful, but wanted to mention that Bloom & Wild stock a few different designs of these in their gift section for around £32, and if you order from them you can save £10 with a referral discount.

However, there is more choice of design on other sites and the one you’ve linked to is a beautiful choice for Christmas.

StarChild07 · Today 07:20

Ooh I love it, OP. Adore robins, so this is just up my street! Only problem is, I wouldn’t want to use it! 😅

Pattygonia · Today 07:21

I’ve bought quite a few as gifts - and a couple for me! They are really lovely - I bought one handbag style one - I don’t use it very much but I do love just owning it! The velvet is beautiful quality.

In Previous years they have done a good discount on Black Friday so I’d have a look on the Elizabeth Scarlett site itself.

TheChosenTwo · Today 07:24

I have a couple I’ve been bought as presents. They are pretty but I use them for toiletries when going away and they sit in a cupboard when I’m home or sit empty in the suitcase waiting for repacking to come home again! A ziplock sandwich bag would do just the same for me but obviously less pretty.
I don’t really get the visual appreciation of them because they are mostly hidden away except when they’re being packed or unpacked.

LordGiveMeStrength · Today 07:29

I have a few and use them for my makeup bags, using for traveling. They’re lovely quality and I’ve run the lighter coloured one through the wash and it still looks lovely. The last one I bought I picked up on vinted. So this might be a good way to check one out.

Arbourimage · Today 07:31

I do quite like the look of them, but influences were saturated with constant new pouches from the brand a few years ago so I’m a bit bored of them.

I think lots of people use makeup bags regularly to store daily makeup though rather than a thing that’s only packed when travelling.

And, being good quality velvet, takes up extra space in a carry-on when size matters!

Myplantsmyrules · Today 08:53

I love them! I've bought new, vinted and been gifted them.
They are very well made, the zipper is premium and they come in handy for all sorts of things.

I use them for my kindle, coin purse, keeping small items together (lip balm, hand cream, my inhaler) and just transfer the pouch from bag to bag, tarot cards, knitting and leads and chargers.
