Which dress for Christmas?

I’m 30 if that makes any difference. I know lots of posters are older. (Not that it should matter, we can all wear whatever we like).

I love the one with the fur trim, but I like both of them. Where will you be going over the Christmas season? Will you get to wear the dress more than once?

FancyBiscuitsLevel · Today 12:51

We kind of need to know the event. Obviously, neither would work for “eating my body weight in pigs in blankets and roast potatoes”. Both would be good for Christmas parties where all the guests are rather glamorous. Both are a bit too “and here are my tits” for a work Christmas do.

the fur bottomed one is my favourite- however if you get it wet, that fur will look ratty, so do you also have a long enough coat to cover that for the arrival to any event wearing it? (It will rain not snow in December, we always think we’ll get snow , but this is Britain, you need to assume rain.)

Purplecatshopaholic · Today 12:52

Love the red one. I think the fur on the other one could look a bit tacky.

RowsOfFlowers · Today 12:58

I prefer the burgundy with the fur. I think the bright red glittery one looks tacky.

I also love both. I’d wear it more than once, probably twice this year and also next year. I’m going to a fancy restaurant with family and then probably nice bars on NYE.

@FancyBiscuitsLevel Well I won’t be stuffing my face in it. I have small breasts so neither would look too cleavagey on me. I also think I’d wear a shrug with it for a works do, although that’s not where I plan to wear it. I’d wear it to a fancy restaurant and to nice bars on NYE.

I think the first one is better by far!

Thanks, what makes it look tacky to you?

I prefer the first one but I bet the fur will shed, so I’d go for the second.

As you don’t have the same boobage, they might not look so good though and another style may be better.

It’s hard to judge from AI generated photos. What is the brand? Is it any good?

Bientotnoel · Today 13:10

Just to clarify, the red one is made from lace, and not sure which material the burgundy fur trim one is..

I don’t think the photos are AI but they will be airbrushed. It’s Oh Polly, so generally good quality lined dresses.

Tricky. I prefer the colour of no.1 and the style of no.2.

It’s so hard to tell from these shots how the dress will look on a random woman. I don’t think anyone in the world is quite that shape!

You mean they won’t look good with small breasts? I like the figure hugging fit because I do have a tiny waist and round hips, which I think suits bodycon. I know I have small breasts but I don’t think I need to avoid particular necklines because of it?

Oh come on, of course it’s a shape that plenty of women will be.

You definitely don’t need to avoid lower necklines due to smaller boobs, that’s a ridiculous comment.

On if you aren’t stuffing your face at Christmas meals you are doing it wrong!! It’s a feasting holiday after all!!

I think the purple with fur looks more expensive. It’s a more fashionable shade this year, but then it might look dated if you want to recycle for next year. Set against that, the red sparkly one is very “Christmas” and so might not work if you get invites to things in November / February, whereas the purple fur one would work through until spring, and next autumn.

(I recognise that wasn’t very helpful as I’ve effectively argued for both! Ultimately if it was me I’d buy the purple fur one as I just think it’s nicer and not try to think too much about getting multiple events over several years out of it.)

Well, the images will be airbrushed, but some of us do have small waists/relatively wide hips like the model.

You don’t need to because as you said everyone can wear what they like. but I think that style of dress suits an hourglass figure with boobs to match the hips. I don’t think they look as good if the woman has smaller boobs with round hips.

It’s just because one poster said that these dresses might not look good on me because I don’t have the same “boobage” as the model. (Ironically, the cleavage on the model is airbrushed in… she had small boobs in other photos for the brand).

I’d argue those dresses and necklines would look better on a smaller boobed lady.

Ok, I see your point. I suppose I just like to show the parts of me I like, my silhouette, and I don’t mind if my breasts look small and I therefore look ‘pear shaped’, as I didn’t think that was something I had to hide.

OP posts:
SleepSound · Today 13:21

Do you have the dresses yet? If so, post a photo of you wearing them and we can say which one looks nicer on you. I know the first one would look better on me with my skin tone.

Thank you…. There’s one poster who said small boobs/small waist/round hips won’t look good in it because you need boobs to maybe h the hips for those dresses? I suppose I just wasn’t ashamed of my petite pear shape 😂
