Which dress for Christmas?

I’m 30 if that makes any difference. I know lots of posters are older. (Not that it should matter, we can all wear whatever we like).

Tricky. I prefer the colour of no.1 and the style of no.2.

Me too!

Thank you…. There’s one poster who said small boobs/small waist/round hips won’t look good in it because you need boobs to maybe h the hips for those dresses? I suppose I just wasn’t ashamed of my petite pear shape 😂

I said they might not and it’s just my opinion and have also said wear what you like. I’ve also suggested you post a photo wearing them as it’s hard to tell as you have a different body shape to the model in the photo you posted.

Anyway, have fun on your nights out. 🥳

Do you have the dresses yet? If so, post a photo of you wearing them and we can say which one looks nicer on you. I know the first one would look better on me with my skin tone.

I haven’t bought them yet; I was only planning on buying one. I know both will be very body hugging. I can post a picture of me in a similar dress from the same brand if people want to judge which of these two styles would look better.

@SleepSound I just have smaller boobs than the model, the actual shape of my body is very similar. And thanks.

I like the burgundy one best, it's more unusual. But both are nice and the red one might suit you better. I'm probably choosing for me not you!

FreyaJade · Today 13:29

I like the red one!!

PinkPerpetue · Today 13:31

I love them both !

Thanks, I love both but only want to buy one. I think the sweetheart neckline on the red one might be more flattering for small breasts (which I have), but on the other hand the other neckline is fine I guess…

Yes I think you might be right about the neckline on the red one. I've got large boobs, so I'm looking at it from that perspective.

Love them both - Burgundy will be better if you also want NYE as a bit dressier. I find it's the one time of year one can go all out on super sexy dress!

Well, the images will be airbrushed, but some of us do have small waists/relatively wide hips like the model.

It’s not her hips though, it’s down at the top of her thighs. And her waist is narrower than her hair 🤨

I don't think "airbrushed" does the extreme editing justice. It's annoying because they could be very nice dresses but it just makes me deeply suspicious that if they have to re-touch the photos to that extent, the dresses are probably a bit shit.

Well they probably are. But I have a few dresses like this - one from Marks and Spencer and whilst not the best made clothing item / absolutely all man made fibers, with this type of cut they make them from really thick stretchy fabric like spanks almost that pulls you in around the waist. The ones I have are super extremely flattering.

Pretty much all clothing website photos are edited…

Thanks, what makes it look tacky to you?

The colour and the glitter for me. Burgundy is much classier!

RowsOfFlowers · Today 14:01

I think it also depends on your colouring as well. I’m an autumn so burgundy would suit me better than the bright red. Can you order both to try on and return one of them?

Bientotnoel · Today 14:04

@AlphaApple I can see why you’d think that, but I’ve bought dresses from this brand before and mostly they are good quality dresses. They are fitted.

All, or almost all, fashion brands edit their website photos, that’s both the clothing itself and the model’s body.

Not sure I buy into the ‘season’ colouring thing, but I have light skin with yellow undertones, dyed blonde hair and green-blue eyes. So warm skin but neutral/cool eyes.

You’re right that traffic light red can look gaudy.

NobodyEvenCares · Today 14:07

Yes but they have edited this model to give her a very exaggerated shape, that makes me suspicious that it maybe doesn’t look as good in reality.

I have a similar shape too so I’m not criticising, I think their over-editing is a shame that’s all.

The fur trim one has a bit more about it, for what it’s worth.

Bientotnoel · Today 14:08

@MyKindHiker Some Oh Polly dresses do sculpt the body, but most of them are just very fitted and body hugging.

OP posts:
Wildfairy · Today 14:09

The burgundy is much more elegant, I’d go with that,

RowsOfFlowers · Today 14:12

Are these Oh Polly dresses? Have you tried Club L?

ISpeakJive · Today 14:23

Err….that model also has small boobage but they have been squeezed together within an inch of their life!!! (Photoshopped or not)
For what it’s worth OP, I like the burgundy one and you wear what you like! You will look great 👍
