Charity shops, I apologise

I've loved charity shopping for over 30 years, but like many I've long mixed it with online second hand shopping.
The stories in this Guardian article are not new to those of us who've read threads on here, work in the shops or know people who do.
I never sell online myself and am a very mindful donatter, but my own eBay addiction and Vinted dabbling is contributing to this in a way.
Shops won't want to discourage donations, but it seems more push back on the mountains of crap is needed.

I live to shop and love it too! On an average week I probably visit at least 10 charity shops with mostly good experiences
I’m not a reseller but do buy many different things for others as well as myself
I look for clothes for both myself, DD and DGD, DS and his partner, DP and DDs DH
I also look for toys, ornaments, jigsaws, suitable gifts for people and furniture when I need something
I am very choosy and as lots of others have said prefer natural fibres, good high end retailers or designer - still manage to find loads of stuff
When donating it has to be in excellent condition if I wouldn't buy it myself then I don’t expect others to either
I usually donate to same shop as I know they will take my stuff and not dump it! I go in there often enough that they know me quite well!

Everyone go and look in the British Heart Foundation furniture and home shops and tell us what you think.

I live under one in London. They all smoke where I leave the building.

I like the BHF furniture shop, have bought several things there and was sad when our nearest one closed.

This makes me so mad because I see it daily. People dumping bags of shite clothes outside the charity shops, in the rain. 10 minutes walk from a clothing recycling bank.
