Welcome to the 12th thread, we still have 50 days till the daily unboxing officially starts, although I very much doubt any of our calendars will remain untouched until then 😂

Ooh, I'm intrigued. I don't know By The Fireplace, but it sounds like my kind of autumn/winter scent. The notes seem different on paper to the eBay one...is it more oud-y?

My SFAC is at the Hinckley hub since Friday at 02.29, have yours moved or arrived since then? I have other DPD parcels they received on Sunday and they are moving through the system.

There are so many of the sf av now on vinted. Makes me cross. Sad. Jealous. All of which are absurd.

I would say it is woody, creamy and sweet leaning. The original is more smoky.
It's gorgeous (imo) it's worth a go for sure and if you don't like it I'll buy it off you haha

So sorry that so many of you have had trouble with Selfridges. It’s appalling. My mum used to take me there to get my hair cut as a small child and to see Father Christmas and Uncle Holly each year. The good old days eh?

On a happier note, my F&M AC has arrived and it truly is a thing of beauty. It’s very heavy - nearly gave myself a hernia taking it upstairs and the colours are stunning. I got a waft of perfume when I opened the packaging so had a good poke around all the boxes with one finger and closed eyes . Great relief that all seems to be present and undamaged. There’s certainly enough of us to make up an F&M opening thread come December.

Thanks for all of the Islington advice / reassurance. It looks easy enough to get around everywhere.
I think staying near the concert venue is the best choice now that I’m reassured it’s safe around there.
I’ve been to London a few times and never thought about it, I’ve always felt safe. It was just DH reaction to that particular area that got me thinking.

Edited post to say I’ve also googled how far it is to Harrods 🤣 I’ve never been before despite various trips to London over the years (I’ve been to Liberty)

In other news, my SNK BAC has arrived! Going to have a cup of tea then check the contents. The box tower in my living room is getting a bit ridiculous now 🙈😅

The Selfridges debacle- just catching up- gosh new record lows in terms of customer service to add insult to injury!,, Makes me think they want to be on Celebrity Traitors! Playing with us all, using Mary’s email as a pawn in a marketing game , stabbing customers in the back , abdicating responsibility for bots, breaks and lost parcels. WE are (were) the FAITHFULS and they, most definitely were the TRAITORS! I’m imaging their senior managers in the Turret… with big stupid yellow cloaks on…lol

Can I ask a question about Fugazzi Vanilla Haze? I know that’s not what this thread is for so appreciate it if is unanswered. I saw Vanilla Haze hailed as the most perfect vanilla fragrance. Sounds good to me, I thought. I tried a sample of it and I’m getting some of the - to me - undesirable notes that I got from some other fragrances - medicinal, screechy, antiseptic. Does anyone know what it is that I’m smelling in the fragrance that doesn’t suit me?

@AppleDumplingWithCustard - I used to love Selfridges back when I lived in London in the 80s/90s. It’s changed so much. Feels to me like they are just aiming at rich tourists now. I took a friend from Australia there and we couldn’t wait to get out.

But I am pleased your F&M delivery was so positive. It sounds lovely. Can’t wait for mine to arrive.

I love vanilla haze! I don’t get any medicinal scent from it, and I’m very tuned into that kind of smell.

I find it warm and cozy, a very comforting scent

Hah I used it yesterday. Its the akigalawood note. Hate it. Only fugazzi thay doesn't have it is the orange crush.

It fades a lot within 30 minutes but what do I do in those thirty minutes?!

I do something difficult at my work to distract from it! Anyway try orange crush its a creamy orange soda vibes, most favourite scent of this summer.

I love the other Fugazzi ones I’ve tried yet didn’t even give the orange crush a chance, just assumed I wouldn’t like it and sold it straight away. I’m regretting it now 🙈
