@Beautyfox I have the M&S credit card and it was a voucher from that. The Sparks ones are a bit random!

I considered trying to buy a gift card but feared that that exact scenario might occur.

I tried refreshing and paying card and PayPal but nothing worked and kept getting Barclays error (presumably this is Selfridges bank)... Gutted as was not even using any hacks and simply waited patiently in the queue. Had it in my shopping bag and everything... :(

I bet the the ebay scalpers have got it set to auto reject offers of £225. So frustrating!

Actually, in a weird way, it has made me laugh.

I am in the same boat, £225 down and no calendar to show for, thankfully I did a screengrab of Selfridges refusing to process order so that if Klarna doesn't do it automatically I can use it as a proof of the glitch.

I think I am officially done with trying to get a Selfridges fragrance calendar. Seems an impossible task.

Unless the UK has torn up distance buying regs since brexit (and I don't think you have) you are entitled to return anything bought online bar a very small number of things within a certain period of time. You don't need a reason. If something is faulty you have even more rights.

You have to fight tooth and nail. They rely on people not knowing their rights.

I saw something on Threads earlier about tickets for a Raye concert at the Albert Hall I think and the website was swamped by something like 1.8 million hits by Bots/AI. They said they have never seen anything like it before. If Selfridges had a similar issue it might explain why it was so bad.

I agree. Selfridge's is a luxury business, so they are low-quantity and high-margin. They're probably not used to being hammered by bots and thousands of people.

When I get that response I appeal and send a screenshot of the section from their listing policies thst says advent calendars are prohibited. It almost always works.
