I don’t know how to describe it 🤣 the only words I can think of are sack of spuds, drained, worn down, tired, blobby you get the idea… I need vitamins, skin stuff.. my diet is crap so I’m starting with my water intake and stopping crap foods any other suggestions

Get moving! Go for a power walk.

Caniweartheseones · 11/10/2026 08:11

Aw, I know how you feel and I have an ok diet. What does one do in that case?!

PumpkinWanker · 11/10/2026 08:26

If You wear makeup L’Oréal glass skin moisturiser is brilliant for making your skin look hydrated and for your makeup to go on over.
I’d also buy a thick night moisturiser to put on overnight. Once a week give your face a mild exfoliation which will liven it up a bit as well especially as we move to the colder months of staying inside and more central heating drying us out.

I would focus on the basics first. Get your diet sorted, plenty of fruit and veg and foods that actually make you feel good and energised. Prioritise drinking and getting some kind of movement in each day. Most importantly make sleep a priority. You will look better, feel better and it will make it easier to tackle everything else if you wake up feeling good.

I agree I do need to start with what I put in my body more water and better food… sleep is a tricky as dd2 doesn’t sleep I’ve ordered eborian cc cream as I’ve read good stuff about it I’ve took some vit d and iron and some gummies for hair skin etc and I’ve got magnesium for tonight

Well if your diet is crap it’s not enough to stop eating things - you need to add good stuff.

Find the best veg box delivery in your area, whether that’s a national outfit like Riverford or Abel & Cole, or something more locally based. Buy the largest amount of seasonal fruit and vegetables you can afford, consume and store weekly. The good thing is, the more natural, nutritious fresh food you eat, the less room you’ll have for the other things.

Why were you eating rubbish? Absence of decent food sources nearby, or outside every possible decent grocery delivery? Illness? Or failure to organise and manage food shopping so you’re always ‘grabbing’ something last minute? Do you eat lots of takeaway and processed food? Any or all of this needs addressing.

If you drink - cut out alcohol completely for three months. You’ll be amazed within a month at the difference to your energy levels, skin, and general mood. And you’ll probably find you want to drink less, going forward.

One other thing - do you see a dentist regularly? Perhaps you do, but if not, move heaven and earth to either get onto a hen's teeth NHS list, or pay for private healthcare. Poor dental health can be unbelievably bad for general wellbeing.

However - you would also be wise to get a check up at your GP surgery. There may well be one specific thing that needs tweaking - find out.

Facial massage is an absolute game changer and it costs almost nothing! There are loads of great videos on YouTube showing you how to do lymphatic facial massage.
All you really need is a cleansing oil. I use a simple one that’s around £3.99 and emulsifies with water. Massage it into your face for about five minutes, then gently drain down towards your lymph nodes. Honestly, just find a good YouTube tutorial and follow along.
The difference in your face after just one session is amazing, you don’t realise how much water and tension our face holds. and after doing it regularly for a week, your face can look completely different. You could literally do it now and feel better in 10 minutes.
I’m officially an absolute convert to facial massage!

Great advice from @Tocsin, especially about adding in plenty of nutrients to your diet rather than just cutting stuff out. What you put into your body is at least as important as what you put on your skin when it comes to being healthy and looking good

Stop eating ultra processed food. It means you need to cook from scratch but you'll feel fab once the withdrawal from the addictive additives wears off
