Long waterproof stylish winter coats

I walk to work and during the British winter it is frequently wet and cold. I’m in desperate need of a long, warm, waterproof and stylish winter coat to wear over my work outfits. It needs to come down to around mid calf at least… any recommendations??

Rainsisters trench coat is what I wear on days I’m in the City.

For a niche and expensive Latvian brand that I’ve never seen anyone wearing in real life, it’s amazing how often Rainsisters gets mentioned here.

Anyway, OP, Tog24 have some nice waterproof coats that are a step above tramping up a mountain. I’ve got the Alva which is a smart trench style but it’s unlined.

I love my Seasalt coat. I thinks it's the Janelle one. Warm, waterproof and long. They have a nice range of colours this year.

It seems impossible to find something that is stylish and also long, waterproof and warm. If you get the latter three, they're not stylish enough for heading to work. Or you get stylish and long but not waterproof or warm.

I have the Seasalt Janelle. I find it lumpy, fussy and I thoroughly dislike it for around 360 days of the year. I keep it because there are a few days every winter when it's the most effective coat I've got in terms of keeping me warm and dry. So it depends where your priorities lie but, as to the chances of finding something that meeting all your criteria, I'm afraid I have to agree with @PragmaticIsh

I'd love to be wrong though so I'll keep an eye on this thread.

I forgot to say, my other bad weather coat is one that Margaret Howell does for Barbour. Style wise I much prefer it - it's below the knee, waxed cotton with a hood and looks a bit like a cross between a traditional Barbour and a trench coat. It cost me around £300 and that was 7 or 8 years ago which nearly killed me and I dread to think what it costs now. (That's if she still does them - I think she does but they may not be out yet.) But it's still going strong after 7 winters and I count it as a good buy. It's not fully waterproof though and, much as I hate to say it, not as warm as the Janelle...

Rain sisters coats are amazing. I have a red full circle one and a wine coloured fit and flair. The most practical and the most stylish coats I've ever had. I get so many compliments.

DP swears that if it isn't Gore-Tex, it leaves you sweaty and clammy. I'm not a seasoned winter walker, though hoping to be, so that's what I've been looking at.

They popped up on my Facebook and I loved them. Checked on Trust pilot and they seemed legit. Spent more on a coat than I've ever spent before in my life and I'm very happy with it. I feel my spiritual fashion home is a cross between the 1890s and the 1950s, but I spend my life on the sidelines of football pitches and jumping into lakes so going full Victorian is sadly not an option. Rain Sisters fulfills my corset-filled dreams while also keeping me warm and dry watching a football match in the rain after going wild swimming.

Another rainsisters wearer here. Was given one. It’s stunning I adore it.
I saw a woman at a festival in one, they are just perfect (other than the price)

It's the calf length bit that I think is going to be hard to find. There is a brand that does it but I can't remember the name, I think it's American... For keeping warm and dry on the coldest days I still use a north face parka, but it is only knee length, and the brand has some weird associations I think.
