Long shot - does anyone own this jumper?

Bought this White Stuff jumper described as a chunky cotton knit, brand new with tags.
It's arrived and I think it's acrylic rather than cotton, but the care label has been cut out so the composition listing is gone.
I don't think it's new either as there's some pilling here and there.
Before I raise an issue with the seller I just thought I'd ask if anyone actually has it and can tell me from the label what it's actually made of.
(Obviously the picture will be along shortly ...)

Is the jumper name on the tag? If so,it might be worth searching for it online. White Stuff tend to keep the same product names and basic designs but bring out different colours and patterns each season.

MissMoneyFairy · 06/10/2026 18:51

Has it got a white stuff label, is it advertised ss genuine

igivein · 06/10/2026 18:51

No, there's no name on the tag, possibly the name was in the internal label that's been cut off (why would you cut the labels off? and wouldn't that mean it's no longer BNWT anyway?).
I took a picture of it and did a google image search and the only thing that came up was the Vinted listing I bought it from, so I thought I'd ask the experts before I raised the issue.

I cut the labels off because they are tickly and itchy and piss me off

It does have a White Stuff label in the back of the collar. It also has the White Stuff card label attached with cord and safety pin. The cord is all frayed at the ends as well though, like it's been untied and then retied.
I know I'm starting to sound like Miss Marple with all my observations and deductions. I could actually live with it not being BNWT - it's in good condition and I only paid a tenner for it. It's the being synthetic rather than cotton I have a problem with, which is why I'd like to know what it said on the label.

Can you turn the tag over and take a photo, are there any WS labels inside at all

I quite often do too, but I wouldn't then try and sell it as new and unworn ...
Also, the label was in the side seam quite low down, so wouldn't be against the skin / itchy.

It's not new can see piling at chest that is definitely caused by seat belt.

OK, so here's a picture of where the internal care label has been snipped out and also the stitched in White Stuff label in the neck and the reverse of the card label.

The labels may have been removed so the jumper can't be returned to WS if it was originally from an outlet or warehouse ends. Doesn't help identify it though, it doesn't look new.

Sesma · Yesterday 09:44

It could be anything that a generic white stuff label has been pinned to. The ones that you buy which are warehouse ends usually have the brand label snipped out or crossed out but I’m sure the care label remains or crossed through

TheDutchHouse · Yesterday 10:28

Because the label is attached by safety pin it’ll be easy to pop it back on after wearing or use it from another item. It certainly looks like it has been worn.
Other than contacting WS helpline or shop about the fibre used id say you’d be better off asking for a return.

Wotsupmog · Yesterday 10:31

It doesn't look like cotton. You could return it as mis-described. Or just keep it and wear it if it's comfortable.

Thanks everyone
I raised an issue, said it wasn’t as described, not new and not cotton and the seller agreed a refund without a quibble, she must have realised she’d been rumbled.

Glad you've got a refund. https://www.endource.com/product/white-stuff-ombre-textured-knit-jumper/Z4DOIKMtVQABwGdQ

Looks like the same thing in a different colourway and this isn't cotton so I think you were right.
