Oh lovely. No more throwing old hats in the rag bag.

Emperors new clothes comes to mind

I would be embarrassed to take a new one of these monstrosities to the charity shop.

Well… it does take more effort to actually make those holes than have a hole-less hat. I watched a documentary about making distressed jeans, so I know what I am talking about :)

I wonder whether they keep a room full of kittens for the distressing process.

A few years back we were sat in a cafe in Knightsbridge (sorry, we were with overseas friends who wanted to see Harrods and 'Harvey Nicks'). A guy wearing a pair of paint splattered 'ripped' jeans came in with his immaculately dressed other half. Friend took a photo of the jeans and did a search, the cost 'from' £800....

£800 for ripped jeans. More money than sense springs to mind.

The tramp hat is now reduced to £28. Bargainous.

Watching Knives Out, can't remember which one, one of the very wealthy characters wore a mildly distressed wool jumper. It was just a little frayed at the neckline. I saw this 2 or 3 years back. I can't forget it. I respect wearing things to the end of their lives. I don't respect buying them in that condition, it's fake.

I laughed so much when I saw the picture. Good grief !

Crikey! Not my style and each to their own but I don't understand the love of clothes that look moth-eaten or torn or with frayed hems 🤷
