Dove soap.

Skin 1004 oil cleanser first and then cetaphil hydrating cleanser.

maybe continue with the simple cleanser if you like it but add an oil cleanser first? I’ve found it makes quite a big difference and it’s what all the derm/skin people seem to recommend 🙂

Home made.
1 cup castile soap
1/2 cup honey
3 tablespoons jojoba
2 tablespoons boiled water.

I'm 70

believeinbelieve · 07/10/2026 19:01

I use the Cerave hydrating cleanser.

UnderThePressure · 07/10/2026 19:13

Body Shop Tea Tree face wash, twice a day.
It's great for my ageing, yet still acne prone greasy skin.

Summersongroses · 07/10/2026 19:17

Boots cucumber facial wash. Been using it for decades. My skin is pretty good!

Gothwife · 07/10/2026 19:28

I use the La Roche posay effaced face wash, I have normal skin I would say and it suits me.

DemonsandMosquitoes · 07/10/2026 19:41

Pears soap. Lovely skin at 55.

WhereAreWeNow · 07/10/2026 19:45

The L'Oréal Bright Reveal one. Lovely stuff. Very gentle. Doesn't sting my eyes. Not drying but good for my greasy skin.

feelingflushed · 07/10/2026 20:09

CeraVe here too, the hydrating cream to foam cleanser with a warm (not hot) flannel. I used to use Dove soap and had itchy flaky patches, but my skin looks great now.

I use salicylic acid afterwards and CeraVe moisturising cream in the big tub, and retinol two or three times a week. I’m really pleased with the appearance and softness of my skin since I starting paying it more attention. I’m 55.

FourSeasonsTotalLandscaping · 07/10/2026 20:24

I’m another CeraVe devotee - exactly like @feelingflushed I prefer the hydrating cream-to-foam version and I take it off with a warm damp flannel. I do that morning and evening. In the evening I use something else beforehand - at the moment the Dr Althea Grinding Cleansing Balm but I switch it up pretty frequently.

ArielManto43 · 07/10/2026 20:35

Cerave cream to foam cleanser here too. I got a free sample of it and was surprised how much better it was than the Garnier micellar foaming wash I'd been using forever. I've not used anything else since, and my skin feels soft after washing now, not tight like it did before.

FurForksSake · 07/10/2026 21:40

Aside from the avene I also use a pink dandruff / scalp shampoo on my face as I get facial dandruff in my eyebrows, eyelids and down the sides and in the creases of my nose.

tiredmummasita · 07/10/2026 21:55

I use a new one each week as for some reason my skin can’t tolerate a cleanser longer than that. If I use hand wash or bar soap I’m fine though. I know that’s frowned up in the skincare world though haha. My Egyptian Gold Retinol serum by Grounded is a lifesaver though as I don’t have to use makeup anymore as my skin looks so even and toned without it so I don’t have to use that much cleanser anymore

mumumental · 07/10/2026 23:08

None, ever. Just water.

livelovelough24 · 07/10/2026 23:11

If I have a make up on I start with Ordinary Squalane Cleanser and than use Cerave. If no make up, only Cerave.

notagainnnnn · 07/10/2026 23:22

I know it gets A LOT of hate but I’ve used st ives apricot face scrub for over 20 years and absolutely swear by it! I’ve tried others over the years but always come back to this

moggiek · 06/10/2026 16:48

Whichever handwash is on the sink at the time 🤣

Same! But do use a flannel
and hot water to rinse it off - I think it’s the flannel rather than the product which is important

theblame · 07/10/2026 23:31

Soap and glory peaches and clean, taken off with a damp bamboo flannel (really soft)

daisydalrymple · 07/10/2026 23:42

No.7 lift & luminate, it’s gentle enough, but also exfoliates.

DinoDoughnut81 · 08/10/2026 01:06

I love Byoma Milky Moisture cleanser at the moment, sometimes I use Simple Facial Oil cleanser first at night if I've been wearing full make-up and waterproof mascara. I also like Superdrug Me+ Hyaluronic Acid cleanser, very inexpensive and gentle. I also use a flannel every wash.

Seacatt · 08/10/2026 01:30

Oliva olive oil soap

WarmthAndDepth · 08/10/2026 02:21
