Tropic smoothing cleanser. My skin breaks out if I use anything else now. It's a bit pricey but very worth it, in my opinion. And it smells AMAZING.
I also love Charlotte Tilbury Magic Hydration cleanser for how it makes my skin feel.

Cerave in the morning before I get in the shower, removed with a flannel, then at night the Weleda cleansing balm after removing makeup with miceller water. I very occasionally use a salicylic acid foaming cleanser if my skin feels congested.

DangerousThingsILove · 06/10/2026 22:53

ESPA micellar cleanser. I have dry skin and it’s gorgeous.

JoanDarc · 06/10/2026 22:56

Japanfusion by Beauty Pie, is excellent and I buy on repeat, must have used for 5/6 years now. It’s a balm texture, skin feels clean but not tight after. Absolutely love it but hate the subscription model of BP.

I've tried Cerave but very harsh on my skin so stopped.
Unfortunately alot of it is trial and error.

I settled on ELF cleansing balm. My skin loves it and I can wipe it off with a wet flannel. I'm not a fan of splashing water on my face.

Cerave foaming wash. I sometimes double cleanse if I’m wearing make up – either Cerave twice, or Inkey List oat balm first.

Elemis gel cleanser and a hot Muslin cloth

gullgal · 06/10/2026 23:32

Just put my face under the shower every day and that's it

Sameshitdifferentdaymonthyear · 06/10/2026 23:41

Dove beauty bar

MidnightMeltdown · 07/10/2026 00:15

I didn’t know that you needed a special face wash when you turn 40 😂

MyDuvetDay · 07/10/2026 00:17

Honestly just whatever soap is about

Fuckmyliferightnow · 07/10/2026 00:55

I just use a facecloth and filtered water. Washes and cleansers bring me out in spots.

I use micellar water for eye makeup removal ( I don’t wear foundation), followed by the water. I stopped using cleansers in my early thirties and all my spots went away.

AppleDumplingWithCustard · 07/10/2026 01:10

I’m using Heimish All Clean Balm and Yepoda Bubble Double, so an oil cleanse then a water cleanse. Both Korean brands. I find doing a double cleanse makes my skin really clean with no trace of make-up.

IDontHateRainbows · 07/10/2026 05:16

Medik8 lipid balance cleansing oil

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 07/10/2026 05:49

Dove beauty bar or Nivea or other facial wash.

pastadish · 07/10/2026 09:57

To Take make up off I use Clinique take the day off it simple oil cleanser, either with flannels or I like to buy a box of face cloths. If I have no make up on I just wipe over with the ordinary glycolic and splash with water I don’t use a face wash as they cause problems with my skin

I use the eye cream and under eye patches, fab!
Off to research the cleansing gel…

You won’t regret it!! I also hugely recommend the SPF 50 relief sun + rice cream - my make up sits SO nicely over it! Also their dynasty cream and glow serum (I don’t work for them I promise lol)

Liz Earle cleanse and polish works for me

I use this and the Superdrug vit E one. Both really nice, though at somewhat different price points!

DeftGoldHedgehog · 07/10/2026 17:13

Nothing (age 51). I use my shower gel in the shower, and micellar water on a muslin cloth on my face after, then apply moisturiser and eye cream.

ThunderFog · 07/10/2026 17:16

H2O, warm, not too hot.

keffie12 · 07/10/2026 17:19

CeraVe!! I use it for skin wash, day, night cream, and eye cream. Very reasonable priced and all available on Amazon to make it easy

Ladidahdi · 07/10/2026 17:51

The ordinary glycolipid cream cleanser. Makes my skin feel lovely and plump.

Koulibiak · 07/10/2026 18:20

Bigelow foaming face wash. It seems to be marketed to men, but I’ve been using it for years and haven’t grown nards yet. I used to have very problematic skin, it’s very gentle and a bottle lasts ages - you only need a tiny amount. https://www.thegroomingclinic.com/products/c-o-bigelow-oily-skin-foaming-facial-wash I usually get it from Debenhams online or Liberty’s.
