Under eyes

Does anyone have a good hack to freshen/brighten/depuff the under eye area?

I've had a horrendous year as I navigated a tricky separation from my ex and I seem to have aged decades. I'm 45 and, until pretty recently, looked fairly young for my age.

I feel like this is the area that really ages me. It's not so much the wrinkles but the sunken tiredness. Sometimes it looks better (which, perhaps foolishly, gives me hope) but I just look so tired and drawn a lot of the time.

I'm a night owl but I'm trying to go to bed earlier. I'm drinking lots of water.

I'd love a post-split glow up!

I'm not rolling in money so I'm more looking for 'frozen potatoes' than '£5000 surgeries' but any suggestions would be very welcome.

Someone on here recommended this eye area product to me for the same reasons as you op. I was sceptical but its bloody marvellous. Cucumber slices are good for a quick de puff.

I use Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Eye Cream. After using it for a very short time I’ve been able to dispense with under-eye concealer.

Honestly, best thing I have found is Hycosan night eye drops, plus an eye illuminator cream.

Has anyone actually tried frozen potatoes? Asking for a friend…

I’m a big fan of the kiehls avocado undereye cream, the pot is absolutely teeny weeny and seems like a rip off but mine lasts me a good few months of using a tiny amount patted and then massaged lightly under my eyes.
Genuinely I don’t think topical creams realistically do much but this feels quite hydrating.
I’ve got dark circles under my eyes. Of course creams aren’t going to get rid of them, the darkness is because the skin is so thin that you can see my veins and whatnot peeking through my skin, the only thing that will stop that is injecting something there to create a barrier. But the hydration is nice and my under eyes look glossier than they used to and I just enjoy a bit of ritualistic pre bed pampering.

I went onto the Boots website and there are a lot of bad reviews 😩
People are saying that the formulation has changed.
I’m disappointed as it seemed just what I needed.
Have you used the new formulation @AppleDumplingWithCustard?

Boots own brand caffeine eye cream - in a pink box, about £7 ish, tap it around under eye area, then I use a gua sha roller, its rose quartz so nice a cold, just to get the fluid draining ( £5 ish, tk maxx)
Even my 26 year old noticed I was " looking brighter" !
