Which cardigan?

I have no sense of style.
I need something to wear into the office. I usually wear very dark blue jeans and a top or blouse.
I'm tall, but disproportionate, have normal legs and a long body. Makes it hard to find tops long enough and cardigans or jumpers which don't make my tops shorter. I have a lovely, light, grey cashmere silk cardigan which does exactly this and I spent the whole day pulling down my top to meet my trousers.
These are the two longest cardigans I can find, even if I'm not a fan of the pockets.
mid 40's with a belly to disguise, if that changes anything!

Feel free to suggest something else! Back length needs to be a minimum of 66cm

@CortieTat thanks but it says it's 63cm which is too short. I need the body to be the same length as, or slightly longer than the sleeves!

I see. You said in your OP that you have a long torso compared to legs and you also used the word “disproportionate” so I assumed you would be looking for something that gives you a more balanced look - a long cardigan can exaggerate the length of your upper body and make your legs look shorter.

Could you experiment with different lengths of layers? Unless you are in an extremely formal setting wearing a longer top under a shorter cardigan can look purposefully “street style”

I just hate having a cold back, trying to look balanced didn't even occur to me 😂

(and I don't want to bare my middle when reaching for something!)

@EntropicalFruit ,me too. I won't wear an untucked top.
A vest might come in handy. A gilet or sleeveless jumper could be an option.

Cardigans of any genre make me shudder. A nice blue blazer will
be much better imo.

Silverbirchleaf · Yesterday 14:28

These are all from Next, and come in ‘tall sizes’. Some are available in several colours.

Pictures!

I did select six cardigans but some pictures wouldn’t load . Just select ‘cardigans’ and look for the the body fit category in filters and select ‘tall’.

As a fellow long-bodied cardigan lover can I just say ‘thank you’ for this thread OP. I haunt Vinted for long cardigans - I haven’t seen a good one in the shops for ages. As someone else said, Boden used to be great for longer tops and cardis but the last one I got from there was too short and left me with cold kidneys. Just have to hope the long slouch comes back into fashion eventually.

I really like this, though annoyingly the blue is out of stock in my size!

Exactly.

OP if I dont have my trousers quite high and a very short top or better still tucked in, I look like an orangutan. So I wear a lot of short tops and to keep warm, wear a vest or thermal thing underneath.

I'm dreading someone suggesting a waterfall cardigan 😉

They'll be back. Probably as "vintage" ... but hopefully not for a while! I won't be wearing them though ...
