Help with basics

I feel like I’ve completely lost any sense of style or things that suit me. I have lost weight recently and am peri menopausal so maybe hormones have a lot to do with how I feel. I need a big wardrobe overhaul but need to start with the basics first.

can anyone suggest or recommend items that are stylish and comfortable for an hourglass figure with a warm autumn colour palette? I’m also petite (5’) which adds extra difficulty!

I had a personal shopping session last year and it was a disaster - £210 for 2 hours of the ladies time, she was more bothered about snapping pics of herself in shop mirrors for her socials content than helping me find styles that suit me. I ended up with a cream halter neck waistcoat and a pair of wide leg jeans that drowned me - both went back to the stores as both were completely impractical.

For absolute basics, jumpers, cotton tops etc I always go to Uniqlo. They have lots of colours - in fact often too autumnal for me. If you start with a few bits you like and build from there. My mum is petite like you and they also offer a service to turn up jeans and trousers I’d you go in store, which she finds handy.

M&S have some nice bits this year and also the return of fewer midis/maxi skirts which I imagine you prefer to avoid?
