Dealing with grey hairs in eyebrows

How are people managing grey hairs in eyebrows? This afternoon I applied Just for men beard dye - TWICE - and still the pesky things are glinting silver at me.
At this point I’m thinking just pluck them and have sparse brows that need filling in when I’m in public or go the microblading route and again, just pluck them.

what’s everyone else doing??

I use Benefit Gimme Brow gel that sort of paints over the grey hairs and makes my brows look thicker and the right colour overall. I’m interested to see what others do.

susiedaisy1912 · 04/10/2026 17:53

I dye mine every 4 weeks.

What are you using? I assume this keeps the greys at bay for a few weeks!

I go to the beauty salon every 3 weeks and get them tinted (dyed).

My dd uses eyebrow dye (Eyelure)? on hers

Thedogswhiskers · 04/10/2026 22:39

I bought a Blink eyebrow mascara last week for this same issue. It works!

notthatoldchestnut · 04/10/2026 22:42

I have mine tinted and waxed every 5 weeks

Gemstonebeach · 04/10/2026 22:51

I get mine waxed and tinted once a month, I use eyebrow gel on them as well.

jackstini · 04/10/2026 22:52

Brow dye
Ardell brow tint when I can find it
Schwarzkopf is also good

PlasticFiend · 05/10/2026 00:22

I haven’t had real eyebrows since I shaved them off at 17. 20 years later the sparse stubble is still brown but I’ve got glittery grey strands all over my head (brunette). I guess I’ll just keep shaving off the stubble to prevent the greys 🙈 thank fuck for eyebrow transfers on at home days and black liquid eyeliner pens to draw them on to leave the house 🙈

I love that stuff! It blends in the grey hairs & thickens my brows too. Then I use the NYX fine micro-brow pencil to fill in any gaps. Maybe if I get more grey brow hairs I'll start to think about dyeing them - but right now this works really well.

I also use this and would recommend.

RedSquirrelRoar · 05/10/2026 10:37

I too look increasingly like a badger. I use revlon eyebrow dye every few weeks and Clinique tinted eyebrow gel.

I always used to dye them as I have blonde eyebrows and they disappear in the sun. I actually never considered the reason people dyed them was for grey hairs until I got my first last year, but yes, opt for a tint once a month.

CMOTDibbler · 05/10/2026 10:41

I get mine tinted every 6-8 weeks. She literally leaves the dye on for a minute so they aren’t dark, just filled in

BetterWithPockets · 05/10/2026 10:44

Just wanted to say thank you for this thread, OP. Weirdly, I’ve found my eyebrows going grey far more disturbing than I ever did my hair (maybe because that started in my early 20s)…

BestIsWest · 05/10/2026 10:45

I used the Eyelure linked up thread yesterday and still have three grey hairs. They must be super tough.

I actually did Munch's Scream pose when I found my first grey pube.
Luckily single so only I know. And everyone on the internet now of course...

I’ve been looking for a good pencil to fill gaps and think I’ll give this a try!

Do!

I've just been away for the weekend & had to take the brow pencil I used to use for years instead, as I'd just finished my NYX one. I hadn't realised how much better it was than my old Rimmel one (a pencil sharpener-type) until now! It creates much finer more natural-looking strokes, & is much longer lasting too.

MontysMum909 · 06/10/2026 08:23

Thanks all for the comments and recommendations. I’m going to Boots at the weekend - may double up on the eyelure and Benefit Gimme brow. It’s really coming to something when you find your husband staring into your eyes, except it’s not your eyes he’s looking at but the Dennis Healey eyebrows!
As for the poster with a single grey pube - enjoy this time - it won’t be on its own for long 😵‍💫

My hair is completely grey. I have black eyebrows ( hair was mid brown) and pluck out the odd white hair. If it gets worse then I'd dye but jet black eyebrows would look weird at my age. Any suggestions?

PixellatedPixie · 06/10/2026 18:30

I was scared that plucking is too irreversible and so I have, on occasion, trimmed those hairs very short. 😂 I also find the benefit brow products good but they are quite expensive.
