Boohoo returns - be warned!!

Just a word of warning to others!!

I returned 7 items in one parcel using an Evri locker. They refunded 3 and claimed the other 4 weren’t in the parcel.

I disputed it and asked what evidence they had to support this, if the parcel had been checked or weighed, gave details about the clear packing tape I used and asked for a still of the “cctv” they claim to have of my parcel to see if it had been tampered with etc.

I got the same copy-and-paste response from various people stating the Claims Team had reviewed the cctv footage, the package arrived intact, only 3 items were received, and the decision stood. None of my questions were actually answered!

Then despite it being a Boohoo issue, the replies started coming from PrettyLittleThing. I asked why and whether my complaint was even being dealt with by the correct company/team — again, no answer.

I asked numerous times how to make a formal complaint and asked them to acknowledge it. Completely ignored. No complaints process, no escalation route, nothing.

So now I am out of pocket (luckily not by too much) but it feels like they just keep repeating themselves until customers give up. Conning bastards, in my opinion and seems to a common scam after having a look on google.

I’ve asked for my account to be closed and my personal data removed from both Boohoo and PLT, I will never use them again, the way they treat their customers (in my case longstanding) is absolutely vile.

I had a different issue with them, bit you can get the email of their CEO online, going to them seems to get things resolved.

Thanks but I have given them more than enough opportunity so now I will talk with my feet - they will never see another penny from me. They essentially told me I was lying and have managed to make extra money from this. That’s enough for me to never use them again!

Whenever you return something, take photos and video of everything in the package as you're wrapping and sealing it up. It's what a consumer lawyer advises.

It makes sense but shouldn’t be that way! I truly believe even if I had that they would not have reviewed my issue, I couldn’t even make a proper complaint as they refused to provide me the details on how to do so, just responded over and over again with the same response. Infuriating!

Have you tried Resolver? I had issues with Debenhams (I think they’re linked). Resolver was helpful.

Thanks I will take a look, all so much unnecessary hassle!

They certainly sound sketchy. I can understand companies getting pissed off at big shopping hauls being returned, but it would be more ethical if they just charged per item returned. You returned 7 items so they charge you e.g. £2 per item returned, rather than convoluting a story about not having received items. A fast fashion company like Boohoo is never going to be the most ethical I suppose, or even concerned with being perceived as being ethical.

I just meant with regards to getting all your money back.
I haven't shopped with them for nearly a year now.

I never shop with them. Not only are their goods cheap and shoddy its almost impossible to return them. I suspect they use the cheapest of sweat shops abroad.

Nikinoo69 · 04/10/2026 09:40

You can ask your bank for a chargeback and they’ll refund you.

I had shopped with them for ages more specifically since I could get Dorothy Perkins and the other Debenhams brands through their site which were much better quality! But lesson learned and I have requested my accounts be closed and all data removed now.
