How long have you been going to this person? It might be time to try somewhere new?

I have had Botox for about 8 years now and mine usually lasts about 12 weeks, I know some people say 6 months but mine has never lasted that long.

I went to the same person for the first 5/6 years, I fully trusted them as they were very well qualified and used to be a GP, worked for Bupa etc. There was always an area that the Botox didn’t seam to have the full effect and she said I needed to pay more for more Botox in that area, I did but it still didn’t fully solve the issue. I had quite noticeable lines across my forehead that were reduced but never gone

Sadly she closed her clinic a couple of years ago and I went elsewhere, the new clinic was also well qualified etc, I explained the issues I had previously and that I needed extra Botox etc, she told me to let her try a different pattern to see what happened, I did and the results were much much better, lasted longer and worked in the area I had always had issues with.

That clinic also closed and I’ve gone elsewhere again and the results I have now are amazing and last slightly longer.

I now pay less for far better results.

It might be worth looking for recommendations in your area and trying someone new, incase it is the method they are using. Sometimes loyalty to a clinic/person isn’t always the best thing

I used to get medical botox for a movement disorder but it stopped working, my immune system just deals with it. They tried every variant of botox, also dysport and xeomin but with the same result, so I had to quit. On the plus side if its that, you have a strong immune system...

Have you changed your medications or started any new ones recently? It's possible that some might affect the half life of Botox. But yes, as PPs have suggested, it's always worth trying a different practitioner and different injection pattern. Also check if your practitioner has any advanced qualifications such as the Level 7 diploma in clinical injectable aesthetics, or at least has done a decent amount of training courses.

I am now on amitriptaline for my back and knee. I will check that, thank you x

Botox never used to take on me, until I found the right person to do it! My injector injects in multiple sites across my forehead, rather than the usual six areas that most providers inject. I also have the strong Botox - Relfydess. This lasts around 12 weeks for me. Regular Botox only lasts about 6 weeks on me!
