Can't find boots that are exactly right, and god knows I've wasted enough money on boots that are not quite right over the years.
I want some sort of ankle boot / sock boot thing where the top is very narrow and actually hugs my ankle/lower shin. I have very skinny calves and ankles and fairly big feet so footwear often looks really clumpy on me and if the top is too wide it just looks ridiculous, like my leg is flapping around inside the boot.
Anything with a really elongated pointy toe also makes my feet look ridiculously long. I also have emerging bunions (yes, I know, how lovely) which don't hurt as long as I wear trainers but I think will be agony if I squish my feet into something too narrow.
I wear trainers 95% of the time and can't do heels, really, but I can manage a small-ish block heel. These boots are mostly to wear with midi/midaxi skirts/dresses for the office and barrel trousers/jeans the rest of the time.
Black is fine, would also go for wine or brown as long as it's a brown I can wear with black (maybe a tan colour for contrast?). Leather would be much better than synthetic.
I've tried on a couple of pairs in M&S and they looked great in the picture but don't work at all on me for all the reasons mentioned above - toes too pointy, made feet look huge, flapped around at the top.
Can anyone inspire me?
