Is Vinted addictive?

I sort of shop there in spurts & right now i need to burn my account!

It's almost a hobby but i find myself endlessly scrolling. Who would have thought sifting through other people's old clothes would be so much fun?

I can feel how addictive it is!

My toddler has more clothes then me thanks to this app lol

Yes. My eBay habit was already bad. I really need to resist looking at Vinted so much - along with Mumsnet!!!

Yes. I have not only become a recent convert, but an addict too! It's my go to one stop shop for anything I can't get in Asda lol 🙃

And I've only just started selling on there, so hope I can recoup some of my purchases that way (or more likely use any sales as an excuse to buy more things 🤦‍♀️).

Me too ... though my partner is less annoyed about my eBay/Vinted habit since I sold several of his old baggy flowery shirts for him (they're vintage, after all ...!!!), & have just bought him three of his favourite M&S Autograph supima cotton T-shirts - new - for the price of one in store!

Absolutely. I held out against Vinted for a long time because I knew it would be addictive but I’m still shocked at how quickly it sucked me in. Those algorithms are far too clever for my own good. And it literally takes seconds to buy something.

I'll have a phase where my last transaction was six months ago then I randomly open it and my DD ends up with more clothes than she will ever wear.
Unfortunately, I am lazy. So the amount of perfectly sellable clothes I've donated to charity shops is astonishing.

Yes I got into a phase of scrolling on there and buying lots of stuff. Usually the same type of thing too!

I am kinda luckily ig lol my 2 year old is almost 3 and has not grown much last year so like most of her clothes are still perfect 👌

I opened an account a while ago but only got sucked in at the end of August. Now I'm totally addicted - drive DH mad 😀

I've never bought anything, selling my stuff (all good condition). Clearing out my mum's house gave me a kick up the bum to get rid of stuff that I really don't need. 4 weeks in and made around £450. Not too shabby.

I went for a mooch around my local
town centre recently, and I really enjoyed myself. We are lucky to have a decent few clothes shops although it’s still fairly limited. But it got me thinking that Vinted, eBay etc are complete time thieves. We used to make time to go on a shopping trip and now I’m just shopping 24/7 so even if it’s cheaper it adds up because I buy way more stuff. Obviously this is outside of the sustainability/fast fashion arguments, it just got me thinking that I spend far too
much time immersed in my phone. I realise the irony of me posting this online! That said, where else would I have got a lighthouse winter coat for £6.79 including postage??

Well, i'm glad i'm not alone! It's a bit eye opening how quickly it sucks you in & also as a pp said how much time it sucks up...

I find myself 'browsing' every evening & then impulsively making offers. I have a cohort of brands i love & i'm in mainland europe so have access to a really fantastic array of high end brands

I haven't sold anything yet but contemplating giving it a go.

UK vinted seems FAR cheaper than EU vinted from what i read on here though...

@Sarahsmi i really do agree with this. Doomscrolling, spending hours on social media, online gambling etc. everything is there all the time.

It used to be. It's full of dropshipped TAT and scammers now. And thanks to the idiots in charge who fucked with the sizing filters I have no idea if what I'm looking at is actually my size or not. I'm hoping a new app pops up soon to replace it.

Yes, completely! In fact, I'm just off out to pick up a Hobbs dress and an M&S throw which have cost me less than £20 for both. I'm also waiting on White Stuff wool jumper and an M&S cashmere cardigan - again, both bargains! It's a total obsession, to the point I had buying anything new because I just think I could get that on Vinted for a few quid while recycling and doing my bit for the planet.
