Should I follow my colour analysis or sew the vintage styles I love?

So im fairly ancient but doesnt seem to be a grans age net so...im supposedly a soft summer colour and a soft classic kibe body type. Im taking early retirement and love to sew but soft kibe clothes are a bit office wear and being a mad old lady I kind of want to sew doen cottage core and 1930 /40, vintage pretty stuff .so do i ignore paid for proffessional advice or what?

Much as a love the colour seasons, the follow on stuff is very stereotyped and IMO very 20th century. Rather conforming for the Patriarchy if you get my drift. Wear what you like. Your season colours may just make you appear a little more well but you aren't bound to them. Do what the heck you like. I would much rather you were happy in your own creations than your edges were smoothed out.

I'd say do what you want, but if you've done a colour analysis, you probably like the idea of going along with that. Don't see it as patriarchal like pp, as I've never heard of men telling women they should follow colour analysis. If that is a way some men tell women to dress, that's news to me.
What makes you happier? Go with that.

i use the colour/style analysis as a guide, but im not bound by it. i found that when i tried to follow the ‘rules’ too closely, it took the enjoyment out of shopping and i would rarely find anything that ticked every single box.

I think these body types are absolute bullshit, and the colours they recommend for the types - whatever the system - are uniformly foul! I love vintage designs. Ignore the 'professional advice' and choose the styles and colours you like, and the shapes that have always appealed to you and still suit you now.

I'm very similar to you - also soft summer (which seems to have done a good job of pinpointing which colours enhance or drain me) and soft classic kibbe type, the outfit suggestions of which were horrifying as I love a romantic or 60's/70's vintage aesthetic. Interested to see responses!
