Letizia's engagement ring was purchased in Barcelona by Inaki Urdangarin, husband of Infanta Cristina. Felipe wanted a particular jewler in Barcelona to make the ring, and as his sister and BIL lived in the city, they dealt with the practicalities, specially because Letizia and Felipe engagement was not known to anyone outside the family and Felipe wanted to keep it private for as long as he could.

The ring was purchased and Inaki and Cristina didn't accept payment - it was their gift for the engagement. All good between close family except Inaki was suspect to have used NOOS funds to purchase the ring (NOOS was a sporting corporate network of companies embezzling public moneys). Inaki was found guilty and sentenced to almost 6 years in jail.

Letizia has never used the engagement ring since the NOOS scandal, and the relationship with Cristina and Inaki has been no existent since then.

Oh that's very sad. I'd hate my engagement ring to be tainted.

I saw too that it was a full eternity ring. These can be a bit impractical everyday especially if they have big diamonds.
I read somewhere that Leti doesn’t wear it because it hurts when shaking hands etc. She had worn the ring on her left hand and one shakes hands with your right hand.

There's been "excuses" in the press why she doesn't wear her engagement ring - the most common one is that it hurts her hand.

Letizia wore her engagement ring until the NOOS scandal was revealed. Since then, she never used it again.

Charlene is the queen of neutrals so it feels quite unusual to see her wearing colour. This shade of blue looks lovely on her.

That little girl is so cute, Charlene is very taken with her! It's true about the neutrals and it's nice to see Char in a colour - I'm trying to decide what shade of blue that is. Delphinium? We've seen a lot of trouser suits of late, this Max Mara one looks well cut and not too baggy in the trouser part. I think the shoes are a bit summery, but it is Monaco. Plus they're flat 👍🏼
