Any TK Maxx fans out there care to share their bargain-hunting finest moments? 😁.

I love finding a bargain and love the thrill of finding a gem amongst the tat. I’ve built a great wardrobe over the years, at a fraction of the price, thanks to TK Maxx. Including a Joseph blazer for £60 which had originally been over £500. I think that was my finest TK Maxx hour 😂.

My focus is first on fabric/shape rather than brand/label.

I didn't realise this was style and beauty and was about to start shouting about the sand and fog candles.

Ignore me haha.

Congrats on the blazer that's a great find!

I dream of finding a great bargain in TK Maxx, but i never have..

Like a Joseph blazer, well done @MakemineaGandT

I love TK Maxx for a browse - quality of stock is so variable across stores though . I once bought a very nice necklace in the clearance red sticker section for £11.99 .. online was still £150 .

I cannot handle it in there - it’s just all too mixed up.

wish I did like it more though as my daughter works there - she did buy me some dr marten sandals for £40 that she saw and thought I would like.

My best ever bargain was a pair of leather converse trainers for £19.99 about 10 years ago. I've worn them loads and they're still going strong.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 16/09/2026 21:31

I hate going in there but did once find a DKNY denim jacket for about £25 which I wear a lot. Also a huge All Saints winter scarf for about £30.

I think it depends which store you go in, most near me are the typical jumble sale but one is quite quiet and lovely to browse in. My best ever bargain (not S&B) was a KitchenAid blender for about 1/3 of the normal price.

TK’s rubbish now.

Bought a pair of 7 for all mankind jeans for £30 years ago. Best pair of jeans I've ever had.

I pass one most days as I go about my business, so my tactic is focused little but often - "Today I am looking at white t-shirts". It is mostly rubbish. But if you understand and accept that, it makes the occasional gem even more rewarding.
My most bargainy purchases recently were a Rixo jacket for £45, and a Chinti and Parker jumper for £10!

I found a pair in Selfridges years ago for about that. Brilliant jeans. Their usual prices are eye watering!

Best TK Maxx hack is absolutely the website! No need to wade through the store on a busy weekend, the filters are decent and if designer is your bag then go straight to the Gold Label section for a browse.
Best bargain was my Bottega Veneta flats that were £100 instead of £500.
I’ve also had a couple of designer bags off there for a 1/3 of their RRP (I always check the actual designer website and reselling sites to check the TK Maxx price is a good deal)

TK’s rubbish now.

Been a Maxxer for many years, it’s not as good as it used to be. Because the stock coming in simply isn’t as good, like all of the shops nowadays, sadly… A lot of my wardrobe is TK. Handbags, shoes, even cosmetics.

My top tip is to target the area to want, and not try to shop the whole place (unless you have time, it’s a vortex!). Do shoes, toys, books for example. Do menswear. Do jewellery & cosmetics. If you love something, buy it.

Got a pair of 7 jeans in Clearance last week!

Since Brexit we just aren’t getting the quality European fashions here in UK any more.
I used to hit the stores In January when they brought in the previous season summer German fashions, great tailoring, fabrics and and detailing.

I can’t pass a T K Maxx faux fur throw though - without giving it a good home to go to.

LifeBeginsToday · 16/09/2026 22:00

There is a lot of Ted Baker in there recently. In general though I find too much made for TK Maxx and not enough actual bargains.

OneTake · 16/09/2026 22:00

I look but I don't find anything!

RichPetuniaAgain · 16/09/2026 22:10

Love TKMaxx. Don't have a bargain find to pass on, but I love it for the reason that you don't know what you'll find 😁 and there are brands in there you wouldn't normally come across. I look upon it as a treasure trove of a shop, and very rarely do I come away empty handed 👛👛🛍️

TheOriginalFrench · 16/09/2026 23:47

Best bargain? A double faced, wool, princess cut Rochas coat, originally a little under £2k, for which I paid around £300. It was during a brief period when I’d lost a lot of weight at the start of a middle aged postgraduate degree - it would never have fitted me otherwise.

And it was from the time when they had a separate Gold Label section. I only ever looked there, and the things I bought from Margiela, Chloe, Calvin Klein (the design label, not pants) Stella McCartney were epic. The last time I wandered in they told me the Gold Label stock is now mixed in with everything else, so I walked straight out again.

(Not S&B but the stainless steel KitchenAid saucepans I found there about fifteen years ago are still perfect.)
