Air and Grace Starlight Boots

I’ve been thinking about getting these as a birthday treat. Bit of an investment piece for me but I feel like they will work well with dresses, barrel leg jeans, wid leg jeans etc.

I know they’re distinctive but I am hoping they are quite a versatile statement piece. What do you think?

And if you have a pair do you find them versatile?

I’d get the black ones.

I think they are really awful. Sorry!

First reply nailed it.

I usually like Air & Grace footwear - & I also try not to be overly critical on the S&B board. But ... I'm sorry, I think these are awful!

If they didn't have the strap-over buckled bits, then they'd just be an ok-ish cowboy-style studded ankle boot. But the straps & star-covered silver buckles make them look extremely fussy & visually cluttered - but also rather cheap ...

If you want a slightly rock-chick look, then there are lots of nicer alternatives out there that are more attractive & versatile.

They look as if they should be a lot cheaper than £279.

There's another thread about wanting to look "edgy".These are corporate edgy (i.e not at all)

Anine Bing does lots of similar styles - have a look on Vestiaire to find them at lower prices. This sort of thing. They're a lot more elegant-looking than the Air & Grace ones (which also look weirdly stumpy!).

Yes, I was a bit perplexed by that thread - especially when the OP returned to say that she didn't really know what she meant by "edgy"?! To me, it's a bit like asking what to wear to look "cool". The very act of asking (especially on Mumsnet?!) probably negates either edginess or coolness.

@Scallywag2023 this style has been around since the original Chloe susanna boot of around 2008 / 2010 & there have been variations on this theme every year since by many brands

I'd go so far as to say that gives it somewhat of a cult status now all these years later..

These boots are not to everyone's taste but that really doesn't matter a jot if you love them & wear them with conviction

I had a v similar pair from zadig & voltaire about 10 years ago but i ultimately didn't wear them enough so sold them

They're certainly no 'worse' than the vast majority of other boots shared on the thread & distinctly better than several.

If these boots suit your style - go for it. Being Air & Grace they will be well made & comfortable. That heel is v wearable daily unlike some of the other suggestions
