Dressing gown.

Can anybody recommend a really warm dressing gown? I live in an old drafty house and I’m sick of being cold. I want a long, full length, really warm dressing gown. I don’t care what it looks like I just want to be warm. Thanks.

I have a brilliant one from online home store. It’s floor length (I have to lift it up going up stairs or I’ll trip) and so warm I can only wear it on winter mornings as it makes me too warm! I think it was only about £20, I wasn’t expecting much but it surpassed my expectations.

An Oodie dressing gown. I don’t have the dressing gown but I have the blanket/ poncho thing and it’s so warm and cosy.

I’ve had the dressing gown and really didn’t rate it. Not long enough and not warm enough.

Best to get a zipped one or oodie style - less draughty than a wrap over style

Thanks. Really don’t like Oodie style. Tried loads but prefer a wrap over with belt.

Oh my gosh! I just bought (after asking for gift vouchers for a big birthday as it is quite pricey) a wool dressing gown. It's made by a company called Canelana. They specialise in wool coats for dogs and people. This dressing gown is seriously the warmest thing ever. Good pockets too. Highly recommend.

Canelana 100% Wool Robe

Deilig morgenkåpe i tykk merinoull. God lengde, ermene kan brettes opp. Et plagg man ikke kan unnvære når man først har det - årets julepresang?

My mother used to get hers from Damart. She swore by them and my mother was never wrong!

Go for a man's fleece version, usually thicker and longer, cheaper too!

I bought a Rosie from M&S one of it’s floor length and is made from lovely thick fabric.

I have a lovely full length velvety black one with a hood from figleaves I love it

TheBabyFatmoss · 10/09/2026 23:05

Another vote for the Oodie dressing gown, really warm.

I have a lovely hooded one that I bought a few years ago from Next/Scion. My top tip would be to buy it bigger than your size so you can overlap it when you wrap it or wear layers underneath. I also live in a cold house!

I got a very warm one from M&S. Mine’s a fleecy one, pale golden beige with a discreet star pattern on it and a hood. I was freezing in the Winter but this dressing gown is so warm that I sometimes have to take it off! It also has a hood. It’s the warmest dressing gown I’ve ever had.

I have the Rosie dressing gown from marks and Spencer’s. Had it a few years but I think they still do it or a newer version, mine is still in amazing condition. I’m 5’6 and it’s down to my ankles. Big fluffy hood. It’s like having a warm hug!
