What clothing brands do you wear? Do you thrift?

Hello just wondering what clothing brands do you guys wear and I love to know if there are any unheard of brands out there!

I am a Primark girl and the odd supermarket.

Thrifting wise I have been put off...
I noticed that a George dress was put on sale for £8.99 used with slight bobbling and is it me prices have gone up.?

When I was overweight, clothing had no value to me: Primark/ Supermarket/ Shein/ Matalan was where I bought the bulk of my clothes. Mediocre quality for the cheapest price to hide my size 20 body the best it could.

Now I have lost a significant amount of weight, I am enjoying purchasing better quality items however I cannot buy brand new, I don't see the value in that. Vinted is my one stop shop for great value clothing, I like high street stuff: Zara, Hobbs, Apricot, Next, Reiss, Phase Eight, Joules, Mango, H&M, Karen Millen, White Stuff, Fatface, Monsoon, Mint Velvet, Warehouse, LK Bennett. I like Kate Spade for handbags, Joules for coats. Shoes and boots I have no preferred brands but will choose a style I like made from genuine leather.

Me too leggings and hoodies wise. Never shopped at amazon but interesting source to get your clothes! 😊

Yes.Not sure if thrift means to give to charity shops or to buy from charity shops. Or even buy or sell from fb marketplace or vinted or ebay or local sites. I do some of these.

Thrift is a noun meaning the habit of saving money, budgeting, and spending only what is necessary. Obviously one could be thrifty if one bought all clothes from thrift (charity or second hand) shops.

I wear a lot of M&S, Fatface, H&M, Joules, TU and the odd thing from Boden, John Lewis, George, Oliver Bonas and Next.

My clothes are usually all second hand from charity shops or Vinted - that way I can buy the brands I like but without the price tag! Plus I love hunting in charity shops for things. I buy basics new from M&S (pants, bras, tights, vests).

What is the purpose? Training, data collection on shopping habits or something else?

I mostly buy from charity shops , Vinted and Toast in the sale.
I look for natural fabrics - linen cotton wool and cashmere over brands .
But brands that I’ve found to be good quality and wash well are Lands end , cotton traders and Uniqlo .
I love men’s clothes good quality shirts are £4 ish , merino jumpers £5 ish . I can sew so adapt the shirts to fit me better.

Why would actual mumsnetters ( you know, the human ones), bother to converse with something that is just data collecting or is just an ai learning bot?

I understand that companies need ai to keep up, but if it results in ai bots chatting to each other, what is the point?

Yes. MN probably do. I don’t think they care anymore. A lot like the online newspapers. The newspapers used to have moderators, but now you can post anything. The more divisive, the more likes.

All these companies will screw themselves in the end. Normal people (you know, the type to discuss things and not just add stupid, one line comments) will get bored and leave. Bots will just talk to bots. What a pointless Conversation.

On dating websites etc, the ai posts/ bots are mainly created by the website to generate traffic/ keep users happy (or at least engaging). I would imagine MN is not much different.
